[keg, Friends of Ham, Leeds] A fairly opaque amberish brown beer, with a decent white head from the keg pour. Reasonable amount of toffee and caramel on the nose – and on the flavour as well. As you go on, orange and lime citrus comes over more on the taste, as the sweeter elements take a back seat. Finish is slightly woody, with more orange, and very pleasant indeed

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Grape n Grind, Bristol. Spicy, fruity nose with some fresh hoppy notes and some lime and mango. Pours a deep, ruby amber with a fluffy beige head. Flavour is good ... very good - interesting balance of sweet amber malts with a finishing back of the tongue note of very dry, very complex hoppiness ... pine resin, boiled broccoli, slight candy, lots of earthy, umbrous malt. Finish is dryer, long, fat with burnt molasses and a hint of charcoal. More spice. Lovely.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at Hanging Bat. It pours cloudy brown with a tiny beige head. The nose is caramel, varnish, leather, touch of mint, chocolate orange and brown sugar. The taste is wood, leather, varnish, solid bitterness, resin, fresh orange and chocolate orange, with a dry finish. Interesting, flavoursome and well-balanced.

Keg ay bat. Pours a very nice red/mahogany woth little ring of head. Resinous hop aroma, touch of licorice and caramel toffee. Taste has a balanced blend of resin, toffee, chocolate and licorice. A little flat, slightly sweet and little bitter finish. I like this but a bit more carbo would be nice

Rating number 5,000. Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 12/2/2013. Deep amber with a frothy, off-white head. Sweetish, cereal malts, a touch of hedgerow fruits and decent, bitter and earthy finish. Enjoyable.
