COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Arcadia introduces the newest addition to its stable of world class British-style ales. Brewed with the legendary Maris Otter Malt from Scotland, this beer is full-bodied and brings a taste of sweet caramel together with a hint of toasted malt that's well balenced with a solid presence of premium American aromatic flower leaf hops. From the package: "Then let us toast John Barleycorn, Each man a glass in hand; And may his great posterity ne'er fail in old Scotland!"

Copper Coloring. Citrus On the Nose and Tongue Notes of Toasted Dry Malt. Odd Amber. Something Not Quite Appealing About it.

Pours amber with a light, fine, white head. Aroma is lightly grapey, fruity smell. Flavor is sweet with tropical, grapey flavors. Not bad, not great either.

Bottled. Caramel with a light cream-colored head. Mild, almost non-existant nose. Thick on palate, some berry flavor, some malts and hops.

Pours hazy and gushing. Uh-oh. Looks like a Belgian ale. murky brown with a giant head. Fruity caramel CO2 aroma. Rather bitter, somewhat earthy, a little fruity, slightly watery, mildly hoppy. Not well realized.

Poured a slightly darker than normal amber with a decent amount of creamy head. Not much in the way of tast though, just some malt taste. Nothing spectacular.

Bottle Amber copper pour with no head or lacing. Malty aroma, flavor of malt and hops. Well balanced. Very fizzy, too fizzy. Decent session.

On tap at the Muddy Pig. Copper colored pour with a general wheat bread crust quality and little else. Mildly hoppy and floral, quite metallic. Reasonable.

Poured a really deep amber color with a grassy aroma. Pretty carbonated taste and feel in the mouth and the flavor went away pretty quickly. Not bad, just not one of my favorites.

A nice floral aroma immediately followed by some lightly toasted bread and caramel maltiness. Absolutely no body though, with just a light bit of caramel and a bit of toffee and fruit, all subdued and in the background, not much to this beer at all. Unimpressive.
