Clear amber-brownish copper color with a lasting 1/2" frothy head and nice stringy lacing. Aroma is woody with a delicate mix of grassy and toasted malt. Medium bodied with a creaminess that finishes watery and bitter. Burnt caramel and toffee flavors backed up by some toast and grassy, bittering hops. This beer soon grew overly bitter and bland, not too far off from the style.

Jun 29, 2008 Wow what a great and different beer. This is not an amber ale, though. This tastes like a specialty grain or spice beer. Aroma of sorghum and caramel malt. Pour was a nice medium amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was very different so I can’t describe it. Nice and bitey with a floral taste throughout. Very refreshing, just can’t put my finger on these tastes.

May 5, 2008 Pours a hazy dark copper with fine sediment, a towering, frothy off-white head that sticks around for quite some time, eventually leaving behind wispy lace. Once the head settles, the aroma comes through: dusty caramel and bready malts with floral and mildly earthy hop notes in support. Light to medium-bodied, with soft carbonation, it finishes lightly bitter and with just a hint of sourness. The flavor is of sweet, lightly sour and bready malt with notes of caramel and floral hops finishing a bit tinny but not in a way that detracts from the overall effect. A refreshingly different interpretation of the style, this one may not "wow" you, but it isn’t half bad.

Apr 25, 2008 12 oz. bottle. The ale surged out. Amber color with a two finger off-white head. Wonderful floral hop aroma - I’m in England. Medium body with fine carbonation. Flavor is more caramel malt than hop, but there is nearly enough bitter in the finish to remedy that. It’s really good, and it might fit ESB or Strong Ale across the pond.
