what the fuck? this has the same funky infection smell and taste as the ipa. maybe it’s oxidation. plasticy taste. bottle says best by september, so unless this is a year old it is fresh. this is terrible. just terrible. i’m definitely pouring this out after i suffer through half of it.

Pours golden/amber, surprisingly hazed under a thick cap of cream-colored head. I can’t coax much from the aroma outside of some soapy florals and a lightly toasted grain. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and lively. Lemony sourness is fore to the flavor. Low malted notes add sweetness late. Drinkable, but its current percentile ranking seems right on the money (36 overall/38 to style).

Orange amber with decent head. Sweet aroma of honey/biscuit and grass. Taste is herbal with a little citrus and caramel sweetness. Not overdone.

Murky amber body with a small off-white head. Herbal/floral nose with notes of hops and roasted malt. Flavor is slightly sweet but mostly watery. Light bodied and gently carbonated. Nothing to write home about.

12 oz bottle from oak tree. Hazy amber in color, with a ton of carbonation and a huge off white head. Aroma is great, seemingly because it is infected. Lemon rind and funky brett with light notes of citrus. Taste is not as good as the aroma, very dry, attentuated caramel and pale malts with notes of citrus and funk. Sometimes mistakes can lead to good things....

Poured to a bright copper color with medium thivck white head, that reduced to a nice white skim atop the beer thru most of the glass and left fair lacing. Aroma was a muted, yet very pleasant blends of malts and hops, but the surprise was in the taste, which was a very complex mixture of spcies, bubblegum, floral hops and a hint of malty sweetness....all intertwined. Keeping this theme, the finish seemed to alternate between a bitter and sweet, and although only 5.1% abv, the alcohol seemed to work itself in at the end as well. A very tasty and enjoyable beer.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2007 First beer I’ve had from this brewer. I’ve had English pale ales and this one was not similar to others. The hops were mild and I couldn’t get passed that weird herbal thing going on. It was almost like an off sourness with flowers petals stems and all floating in there. It’s gonna take a loooong time to finish my 6’er. Probably a "now that I’m tanked I’ll slam one of these crappy things" AVOID. Here we are 3 weeks later and this stuff ended up drain pour. Even when drunk I still had a hard time drinking this so the last 3 bottles went bye bye. FLUSH!

This is the foamiest beer I’ve ever opened! It didn’t surge out of the bottle when I opened it, but the gentlest of pours down the side of a pint glass gave me nothing but a glass of foam and about 3mm worth of beer at the bottom. When things finally settled down I took a wiff and got some very mild hoppiness and some non-hop-generated citrus. Flavor is malty, watery, and unpleasant. Mouthfeel is watery. I can’t say I recommend this at all.

actually enjoyed this one. has a pleasent herb and lemon smell. pours a little thin. well balanced, with some fruit notes, and a quiet bitter finish. very drinkable.
