Bottle, best when purchased by Jan. ( I assume Jan ’10) Gushed then pours golden with a huge white head. Aroma is sour. Flavor is sour. Obviously an infected bottle. Funny thing is that I found it enjoyable and rated it as such. Will have to re-rate when I get a good bottle.

12oz bottle. Pours a lightly clouded, orange-golden colored body with a finger-width, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is a lightly peppered, earthy hop and flowery oranges and lemons. Some honey and caramel as well as a bit of a spruce spice. Lighter and crisp, but nice. Flavor is similar. A thinner caramel and honey sweetness greets the palate before sprucey lemons and oranges come in. There is a nice earthy pepper as well as some florals before this finishes with a clean, moderate bitterness. Dry with a fairly lengthy aftertaste of lemony earth and spruce. Light to medium body with a moderate carbonation. Overall, a nice EPA. Fairly well hopped with a thinner malt sweetness and a moderate bitterness made this enjoyable. Not bad.

(draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Copper pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma is malty with a lot of caramel and very light pine and citrus. Flavor is smooth and malty with a lot of caramel and potent pine. Finishes with a very mild hop bitterness and a good smooth malt flavor. Incredibly well balanced.

Pours an amber golden color, with a slight white head and no lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, some mild hops, and something I can’t place but seems off. Taste consists of a slight hop flavor, with a plastic taste as well. Mouthfeel is pretty light and watery.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 11/16/09

Aroma: Fruity/citrus and floral aroma, somewhat sweet and toasty with some caramel
Appearance: Pours a hazy orange color with a bubbly off-white head and some lace
Flavor: It’s relatively balanced, somewhat sweet caramel, some floral and citrus hops
Palate: Light to medium body, fairly short duration, crisp mouthfeel and easy drinking beer
Overall Impression: Overall this beer is just kid of, eh... I don’t have a whole lot else to say about it to be honest. It’s not really that memorable in a good or bad way. Certainly drinkable, and unoffensive, but that’s pretty much it.

Pint from the hand pull at Poor Phils, Oak Park, IL. Poured a clear, orangy amber with an average, off white head with some fair cling to the lacing. The nose was pleasant fruit and floral notes, with some grain and a hint of caramel. The flavor was similar but somewhat of a let down in texture, low bitterness and lack of good dryness to the finish. I expected more from a Standard Bitter, but it was unoffensive and sessionable.
