3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The pour is black with a white head that leaves lacing. The aroma is very hoppy with a little bit of a roastiness blended it. The taste starts out very creamy and light. It finishes bitter but still very smooth and quite drinkable at 8.5%. I can’t believe this is an IPA! Awesome complexity! Love this!

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz 4pack purchased at Spirits Crosroads right before Hurricane/Extra-tropical storm Sandy or whatever the fuck they want to call this monster. Poured a good looking medium density super dark brown body with a smaller foamy beige head. Aroma of lots of citrus notes, pineapple and tropical fruit notes, no real roastiness that I was looking forward to. Body has a medium mouthfeel with average carbonation and average to slightly softer carbonation with a touch of lingering bitterness on the end. Flavor also is missing that roastiness that I so love, notes of pineapple, tropical fruit notes, old grapefruits, bad citrus and some slight hints of burnt toast. For a DIPA it’s okay for a black DIPA it’s dissapointing.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Had both on draft at Ashley's and the bottle. Smell of mostly roasted malt. Tastes of roasted grain and very little else. Heavy mouthfeel for the style, but no real flavor to enjoy here. Bland, amd no hop bite. Another miss by Arcadia.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle. Blackish brown color topped by a rocky tan head. Subtle toasted malt nose hints at citrus hops and chocolate and soy. Interesting roasted malt flavor, some cola, some chocolate and some dark fruit with a medicinal note. Resiny hops come through late. Slightly sticky and bittersweet finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark black pour with nice off white/tan head, aroma brought notes of pine, grass, orange peel, slight mint leading into nice roast, toffee, chocolate, and coffee notes, hints of earth and a slight spice in there as well. Taste is a mix of roast, toffee, caramel, some nice grass, floral, and pine, finishing fairly bitter and dry, nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pretty black with a one finger head and not bad thin spots of fine lace.
Astringent smell with piney notes, lots of hops, burnt malts, some alcohol.
Taste is very piney, lots of hops again, chocolate, roasted and burnt malts, a little dark fruit.
Body is kind of slick, low on carbonation, a little syrupy, alcohol is quite notable going down with plenty of warming.
Overall it’s pretty tasty but won’t be one of my favorites from Arcadia.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma of dark malt with overtones of piney hops. The taste is full roasted amlt with a light touch of smoke. As it moves through the palate, distinct piney hops enter only to be thwarted by more malt and a strong alcohol warming. There is much to like here. Highly recommended.

big beer indeed beautiful full spectrum hop aroma with malt and fermented tobacco that turns to alcohol. hops, soupy and brothy malt initially some rum turning to rubbing alcohol in some butter. a tiny bit of smoke. the beer is busy, the beer is demonstrative and the beer is exceptional!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is dark malts, mint and a hint of hops. The flavor is citrus, mildly nutty malts, a hint of chocolate and a dry and bitter finish. A bit subdued at first but cleaned up pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle - pours dark ruby with a finger of khaki head and spotty lacing. Nose is smoke (roast), alcohol, grenadine perhaps, cherry cough drop and spruce. Favors adds caramel and rye/peat. Little sweetness but moderate to moderate high bitterness. Dry to the lips. Burp (steak and stir fry). Sticky mouthfeel. Reminds me of specialty grain beer on steroids.
