Massive in every way, B-Craft delivers a complex bundle of flavors with citrus-hop aroma. Moving beyond the massive hop aroma, rich roasted malt flavors of coffee and chocolate move forward only to be checked by an impressive hop bitterness. Texture and flavor dance together so seamlessly that you may need to remind yourself that, while it drinks like a session, it delivers like an assassin.

12 oz bottle. Pours a solid black with a thin head. Aroma is full of that of hops which is to be expected for an ipa. Hops are in the forefront in taste as well, but not overly bitter. I'm not too experienced in double ipas but this went down very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a nearly opaque, clear dark cola color. Rather thick robust pale tan head with good retension. Aroma of sweet pink grapefruit. Taste is roasted malt, sweet burnt caramel, espresso and moderate bitterness. Very well balanced and smooth in texture. Some alcohol warmth evident after the swallow.

Bottle. Back (but not pitch black) pour with a nice half and inch head. Coffee and licorice initially with citrus, spice, grass and floral aroma. Well balanced and not overwhelming but complex yet easy to approach. Very nice

A pleasant surprise! The aroma is well balanced. You can tell that the hops are there in force but the milk chocolate and coffee in the nose keep you grounded. Likewise, the flavor is quite well balanced and extremely complex for an IPA. Much controversy over Black IPAs, but this one does it right.

Hands down one of my top 10 favorite beers. Complex citrus, hop and malt blend of flavors. All around great beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle bought on a trip to Michigan. Black with red notes and a one finger tan head. A layer of lacing remains. This is not fresh. The aroma is rich malts. Those are tasted and are roasted. The hops might have faded some. They are not big. Orange is tasted along with grass. A bit of cocoa. Hops are citrus and mildly bitter. A nice feel. An interesting beer and a complex one. Nicely done.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 The bottle was courtesy of Strykzone. Poured black with a good tan head and moderate lacing,. Nose of roasted malts, and pine, citrus, and grassy hops. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel with a hint of alcohol. Flavor is roasted malts showing coffee, dark ripe fruit, earth, and hop flavors with and cirrus. Finish is lightly bitter dry. Very tasty with a lot of lingering flavors.

there is a fine balance of black malts for me and my Black IPAs. This one is over the line. Just not my style. The acrid malts overshadow the hops.

Bottle pours solid black with tan foam. The aroma is sweet roasted grains and fruity hops. The taste is grainy with a light sweetness but with a moderate roast and generous hops it comes off bittering and dry. The hops carry an earthy bitter and light hearted fruity character, some pear, peach, red grape. Interesting take on the style, more stout with large amounts of hops. Fairly complex and unique flavors, pretty solid overall.
