12oz bottle from a trade some time ago, has red wax on it that took forever to chip off, not sure what year it is, pours a dark murky brown with practically no head at all, not really pleasant looking, aroma is of pretty much straight bourbon and oak with nothing much else, maybe a little bit of dark fruit and malt, but geez, boozy, the flavor has a huge bourbon and oak front end with a finish of malt and caramel, sweet but more hot and boozy than anything, thick mouthfeel, split this 12oz bottle and it was still a chore to finish, meh.

Bottle sealed with bomb proof wax. Pour has a muddy brown color with very little head and a still look. Aroma has rich malt, oak, bourbon, and dark fruit. Mouth feel is full but the carbonation is almost nonexistent. Flavor has loads of barrels, bourbon, heavy malts, and sweetness.

Bottle from trade. Looks like it says 2012 on the bottle, poured 4/1/14. Pours murky brown with a bit of purple and red, and a small creamy yellowish brown head. Smells like vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, toffee, fig, bourbon. Beautiful. Flavor is gifs and bourbon, a blast of vanilla on the finish, slight oxidization but not bad. Mouthfeel starts rich and thick, but with very low carbonation that seems to make this feel a little thin. Some more carb would help the mouthfeel. Very nice beer that I would like to try fresh.

Wax top bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of bourbon, alcohol, caramel, toffee, light oak and light fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bourbon, oak, toffee, light caramel and light fruitiness with a smooth lingering bourbon finish.

The Barrel Aged Cereal Killer marks a craft beer milestone for me. In addition to being my first barley wine, it’s the first beer that I’ve had that’s been aged for more than a year. This brew had an aroma of cocoa and bourbon. The flavor was pure awesomeness. Lots of rich chocolate, caramel, and booze. No doubt, the aging contributed to this brew’s smoothness and sublime sweetness. This malty, boozy ale is, well, a killer.

(Thanks Chris "Budznsudz") Bottle. A- Bourbon, chocolate, caramel, malty, oakey, sweet. A- Dark red black color, dark liquid, off white head. T- Bourbon, chocolate, cherries, red wine, caramel, vanilla. P- Full body, sharp texture, mild carbonation, smooth finish with a slight bite. O- My first barely wine. This one had been aged for over a year and a half. I think the aging definitely mellowed this one out. Wow, was this good. Reminded me of sipping on Jim Beam. The flavors blended extremely well and everything about this just screamed drink me.

Bottle. Clear light brown/amber pour with a fleeting white head. Caramel aromas. Some bitterness, mild booze, and muted caramel notes. Bland and boring with a below average mouthfeel and body.

Bottle shared with Chudwick the C.H.U.D. of the New York sewers. Whiskey shakes at the first sniff. I get some vanilla, brown sugar, and bourbon. My poor dog is having pushups done by his ass by a toddler. Remembering a time before children and friends‘ children and this thing called freedom that I never cherished enough, but should have. Do you remember a time? Like a child molester use to sing about.

One year old 12oz bottle shared by the motorcycle-loving AndyReynolds - nose is wood, booze and bourbon. Sip adds chocolate (malt) and brown sugar. Sweet. Big body. A sipper.
