Bottle. Pours a dark cola color with slights off white head. Aroma is bourbon, barrel, brown sugar, dark fruit, and some melon. Taste is bourbon, brown sugar, sweet. Not as much fruit or barrel in the taste as in the aroma but still very good.

I had this on tap at the brewpub. It has a great dark ruby color to it. The aroma is strong vanilla, dark cherry, and sweet caramel. The flavor has some pronounced vanilla bourbon character up front with a nice sweet caramel, dark cherry middle. There is enough alcohol on the finish that it does not leave too much of a cloying sweet aftertaste. I really liked this. If you see a bottle of this, donít let the price dissuade you, itís well worth a try.

Bottle. Pours dark mahogany with almost no head. Aromas are bourbon, cherries, toffee, caramel, and vanilla. Taste is sweet caramel and bourbon up front and finishes with toffee and vanilla. Medium body, oily and sticky. Very little alcohol burn. The barrel aging really improved this beer. I really enjoyed this sipper.

Notes from 3-18-2010 beer tasting: Very nice, rich, malty aroma. Good pouring head. Deep rich red color. Cask flavors explode in mouth. Very smooth on palate, with delightful finish. Perhaps one of the best beers from Arcadia.

12oz bottle. Nearly headless caramel pour. Nose of sweet malt, bourbon, vanilla, toffee, and caramel. Taste is really nice with a great balance of toffee, vanilla, coconut, and bourbon. Not overly hot at all. Mouthfeel is a little thin compared to others in this style but the sweetness is really well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amazing bourbon aroma with a hint of cherries. Tastes like cherries, vanilla, plums and booze. A little hot. Might put one away to try in a year.

12 oz bottle. Deep brown with sparse froth that rises with a swirl. Nose is bourbon and honey with a touch of grass. Meadlike in its sweetness. Medium body with a tang, lightly sticky. Taste is apple, caramel, grass, banana and bourbon. Comes off a little washed out; sneaky alcohol.

Very strong ale. Drink it from a snifter. Alcohol though out this one. Bourbon seems to increase the sharpness. Luckily it doesn't overpower it so you don't feel like your drinking a shot of bourbon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, caramel, coconut, bourbon, fruit, alcohol, mint, and oak. It pours a transparent bright reddish-orange with a small beige head that quickly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with chocolate, caramel, toffee, and cream. The finish is a real nice blend of bourbon, coconut, vanilla, mint, and oak. Itís medium bodied with very soft carbonation and mouthfeel.
