3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark root beer color with little to no head. Nose of caramel vanilla, banana and bourbon. Light body, with heavy booze dry flavor. Bourbon notes and oak really come through on the finish.

March 17, 2015 - 2012 bottle via trade. Brown pour with limited bubbly head. Aroma was malt, caramel, bourbon and dark fruit. Taste was consistent with aroma and balanced, but just not a high quality bourbon flavor.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sample at Ale Alpharetta, brought by Drew. Cloudy, reddish brown, with a thin head. Big nose of vanilla and bourbon, butterscotch, pine, caramel, and oats. Very sweet, with a nice touch of bitterness. Heavy body, harsh, sticky, and thick. Nice, heavy, and incredibly flavorful beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours opaque chocolate brown with a thin buff head. Aroma has caramel and - surprise! - bourbon-soaked wood notes. Flavor has a fierce alcohol bite that nevertheless lets through arty, caramel, and bourbon tones. Watch out, this is for the bold and the brave ONLY! Viscous texture has some good fizz. A killer!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle from a trade some time ago, has red wax on it that took forever to chip off, not sure what year it is, pours a dark murky brown with practically no head at all, not really pleasant looking, aroma is of pretty much straight bourbon and oak with nothing much else, maybe a little bit of dark fruit and malt, but geez, boozy, the flavor has a huge bourbon and oak front end with a finish of malt and caramel, sweet but more hot and boozy than anything, thick mouthfeel, split this 12oz bottle and it was still a chore to finish, meh.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle sealed with bomb proof wax. Pour has a muddy brown color with very little head and a still look. Aroma has rich malt, oak, bourbon, and dark fruit. Mouth feel is full but the carbonation is almost nonexistent. Flavor has loads of barrels, bourbon, heavy malts, and sweetness.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from trade. Looks like it says 2012 on the bottle, poured 4/1/14. Pours murky brown with a bit of purple and red, and a small creamy yellowish brown head. Smells like vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, toffee, fig, bourbon. Beautiful. Flavor is gifs and bourbon, a blast of vanilla on the finish, slight oxidization but not bad. Mouthfeel starts rich and thick, but with very low carbonation that seems to make this feel a little thin. Some more carb would help the mouthfeel. Very nice beer that I would like to try fresh.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2014 The Barrel Aged Cereal Killer marks a craft beer milestone for me. In addition to being my first barley wine, it’s the first beer that I’ve had that’s been aged for more than a year. This brew had an aroma of cocoa and bourbon. The flavor was pure awesomeness. Lots of rich chocolate, caramel, and booze. No doubt, the aging contributed to this brew’s smoothness and sublime sweetness. This malty, boozy ale is, well, a killer.

(Thanks Chris "Budznsudz")
A- Bourbon, chocolate, caramel, malty, oakey, sweet.
A- Dark red black color, dark liquid, off white head.
T- Bourbon, chocolate, cherries, red wine, caramel, vanilla.
P- Full body, sharp texture, mild carbonation, smooth finish with a slight bite.
O- My first barely wine. This one had been aged for over a year and a half. I think the aging definitely mellowed this one out. Wow, was this good. Reminded me of sipping on Jim Beam. The flavors blended extremely well and everything about this just screamed drink me.
