Eh. Pours black with tan head. Smells promising of bourbon, sweet coffee notes, hints of vanilla. Taste is lacking that bourbon I was hoping for, medium carbonation, hint of burnt coffee. Nothing special for my 50th rate, damn.

Bottle to snifter. 5/12/13. Pours deep, dark brown with a fluffy, but oily, and bubbly light brown head. Aroma is intoxicating; chocolate milk, bourbon, wood, caramel, vanilla, prunes. Taste is amazing, slightly acidic; molasses, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, dark fruits (prunes), touch of peat, alcohol, brown sugar; finish is long, bitter chocolate. Nice dense lacing. Mouth feel is big, full bodied. Medium carbonation; aggressive for the style but very nice here. Considering the alcohol (12%) and the 90 IBUs, I am amazed at how smooth and easy to drink this is. This is a really wonderful and fantastically made beer.

Bottle to oversized snifter. Looks good; a fairly opaque dark cola with thin beige lacing. Smells solid; sweet, malty, and boozy with some molasses and roast. Tastes like it smells with some hop notes too. Average on the palate. Solid, but nothing special. It desperately needs more viscosity.

Bottle via trade. Rich dark pour. Awesome aroma of bourbon, vanilla, caramel - very rich. Some dark fruit in here. Awesome!

In a bottle.... great aroma vanilla, chocolate and Bourbon ... great Bourbon taste with hints of chocolate and booze! Great beer!

Bottle. Aroma has notes of vanilla, bourbon, oak, chocolate and brown sugar. Very dark brown that sits black in the glass. Small brown head that left no lace and almost fully diminished. Flavor is very sweet and medium bitter. Palate is full bodied and oily with a soft carbonation. Overall a wonderful bourbon impy that is well blended and smooth as silk. The aroma grows increasingly complex as it warms and the vanilla and brown sugar notes are fantastic. A great Impy from Arcadia.

Backlog. Solid beer from Arcadia. Surprisingly sweet. Alcohol on the front of wasn’t expected. Have two in the cellar to see if it improves over time.

Bottle shared with alan and joe, pours pitch black with very tiny beige head, no lacing. Aromas of charred malt, cookie dough, espresso, and wood. Taste is booze, chocolate, raisins, smoked oak, and vanilla. Minimal carbonation, medium body.

12oz bottle, shared with DanielCoor. Nice vanilla, milk chocolate, marshmallow aroma... Kind of like a s’more. Very nice nose. Clear but dark brown color... Nice brown head leaves good lace. Nice sweet taste... Alcohol is not too bad, lighter warming finish. Not what I’d expect from 12%, though... Nice balanced but pronounced bourbon barrel influence. Graham cracker. Bigger body, though dry texture, still. Awesome stuff!!
