3.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A fair Olde ale...a bit too bitter on the end for my taste. I hope to find a dated bottle now though as mine was not. Iím curious to try a bottle I can confirm some age on because I would definitely up my rating if the bitter truly does disappear with some aging. Though not the best, still by far not the worse Olde ale Iíve consumed.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours clear brown with whitish head that leaves lacing. Aroma is malt, sugar, tobacco, and booze. Taste is somewhat sweet but not cloying. Some bitterness in there. Not too much aftertaste. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at brewery. Opaque dark red. Really nice foamy head and Belgian lace. Sweet, cereal grain nose. Nice sweet malt without being cloying tempered by a surprising dry hop presence. Well camouflaged ABV

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2015 Poured from the bottle of a four pack this is the 2010 vintage so weíre talking 5 year old beer. Dark brown with a lot of chunky foam. Taste is sweet malt and really boozy, maybe there were some hops used but I canít taste them because itís so sweet. Very strong like a barley wine. It says that this is 9% but I think the 5 years in the bottle has made it stronger. You probably wonít come across this in your travels but if you do be careful, itís English and itís rough. Not for the faint of heart.

Draught. Cloudy brown with small spongy beige head, no distinct aroma, caramel and roasted malt taste, thin body, medium carbonation, longish finish with alcohol aftertaste. Interesting but not spectacular

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of sweet caramel and malt. Dense, but clear, dark mahogany brown, Long-lasting 2" tan head, swirls of lace. Taste is toffee, malt, and alcohol, all competing to be tasted. Then, the addition of hops on the swallow. Big, strong brew, but I canít see how it fits the profile of Olde Ale. Good, not great.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/30/2013. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, herbal, grass, light leather, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, herbal, grass, light leather, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, herbal, grass, light leather, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and balance of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice old ale style. All around good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
