3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
1/24/13. Bottle. I enjoyed this more than most people I think. Pours a dark sort of off-red with a thin white head. Aroma is very crisp, very sharp, very fruity, earthy, sweet. Taste is likewise very crisp, much fruitier than I expected, sweet caramel, only a very little bitterness. Some small lacing. Medium-high carbonation. Chewy mouth feel. Billed as an old ale, this caught me pretty well off-guard. A lot more crisp and fruity than I am used to for the style. But for all that I didn’t entirely agree with, it was still tasty and drinkable. I would drink another.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of sweet caramel and malt. Dense, but clear, dark mahogany brown, Long-lasting 2" tan head, swirls of lace. Taste is toffee, malt, and alcohol, all competing to be tasted. Then, the addition of hops on the swallow. Big, strong brew, but I can’t see how it fits the profile of Olde Ale. Good, not great.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 12/30/2013. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, herbal, grass, light leather, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, herbal, grass, light leather, light nuttiness, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, apple, herbal, grass, light leather, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and balance of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice old ale style. All around good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle consumed multiple times from notes. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor had caramel/toffee malts, some fruitiness, some alcohol, hints of chocolate, mild to moderate bitterness. Medium body, smooth finish. Decent, but forgettable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask at brewry, poured into 10oz nonic. Dark amber, slightly hazy with very little carbonation. Soapy offwhite head leaving laces on the glass. Nose is fruity, sweet malt, piney hops. Medium bodied (wasnt expecting it to be this light), well balanced, boring mouthfeel with short sweet finish.

12oz bottled on 2/23/12 as 9% ABV with 51 IBUs - pours murky dark amber with tan head and thin lacing. Nose is nutty caramel with floral notes. Earthy qualities with sip. Fairly bitter with subdued sweetness. Kind of flat. Enjoyable.
