dmac (890), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 3, 2007 22 oz bomber. Poured a hazy amber with a frothy white head. Aroma was light malt, yeast and something I can only describe as a medicinal odor. Flavor was nice and balanced but nothing really jumped out at me on this one.
KAggie97 (1924), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Oct 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice, deep amber with a curious aroma of plastic cheddar cheese. Nice off-white head gives way to intricate lacing around the glass. Flavor is buttery alcohol followed by a nutty honey finish. A touch of sweet cereal is in the background. Nice mouthfeel. It’s a good beer, but not great. jeffwilliams11 (278), hooterville, Michigan, USA Oct 1, 2008 bottle marked vintage 2006. pours hazy dark amber with fleeting small head. aroma is malty, slightly hoppy and spicy. tasted alright, maybe a little chocolate in the background, malty. very watery, thin mouthfeel though, which was a definate detraction. Sammy (3141), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 27, 2008 this is an easy drinking British style old ale. That style has usually demonstrated more barley taste to me. There is some cocoa in here, and a nice finish. A good one to share. AmEricanbrew (1018), Swamp Shreveport, Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Sep 17, 2008 "2007 vintage" Clear copper color with a frothy tan head. Mild aroma is toffee and rootbeer spice. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Decent flavors of mildly sweet toffee with dry cocoa. Finishes with some spicy dark lager flavors. Not too bad. dm9831 (620), Monee, Illinois, USA Sep 7, 2008 dark brown color, slight tan head & tiny bubbles. aroma of airy malt, hint of hops. flavor of caramel, citrus hops, malt. medium bodied, bitter finish with staying power. enjoyable.
