Great name. It is very crisp. Not that pale of an ale. Noticed the sweetness and chocolate nature. Big head...hahaha. Fruity quality.

12oz bottle pours darker amber color with whitish head that leaves no lacing. lots of sediment in this bottle..lots of sediment. the aroma of sweet malts and cherries and mild alcohol. the cherry aroma is almost sour but not quite...the flavor is a mild alcohol burn with a big plum and some backside of cherry flavor...i get plums and prunes all over this beer. knowing its the same fruit but prunes stand out for some reason. the malt flavor is overly sweet.

Pours a reddish brown with decent tan head. Aroma of sour malt with a touch of alcohol. Has a taste trying to be like a Trappist with a bit of smokiness at the finish. A bit too sour.

Vintage 2010. Murky reddish-brown pour, no head. Sweet butterscotch like aroma but it is very faint. Pleasant taste but nothing special. I taste cherry, butterscotch, and brandy. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Decent but I’ve had way better old ales.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - APR 3, 2012
Bottle purchased at Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI in December, 2011 and rated on 4-03-2012. Bottled on 06/09/10 and label shows the ABV being 9%. Pours a small smooth ivory head that was mostly lasting with spotty amounts of lacing, transparent body, fizzy, fast-rising carbonation, and an orange-brown hue. The Aroma is very malty, sweet, caramel and alcohol. The Flavor is semi-sweet, malty, caramel, mildly hoppy, alcohol, and a semi-dry short finish. The Mouthfeel is tingly and this is a medium bodied Old Ale. Overall, this beer is very quaffable, the 9%ABV was not overpowering and I enjoyed the way the Aromas and Flavors came together. I would definitely drink this beer again if it came my way. More please!!

UPDATED: APR 4, 2012 not shure the age of this but it has(2010-right on the front-duh) quite a bit of dust and am pretty shure its at least a few years old, kind of a murky light brown but with orange and red highlights, lots of head. complex malty aroma of carmel/malt sweet toasted malt coconut vanilla, yeast breadiness slight spice fruit and some hops.
Taste has a barleywineness to it with sweet malt.carmel.oak vanilla some fruit more in the ripe orange type than tropical kinda plum like though and cherry with brown sugar butterscotch, a little alcohol and dryness, yeah pretty malty and with big carmel presence,if you like that its well rounded with a pretty good bittering.Slightly hoppy.not bad.

Pours somewhat hazy brown with a solid finger of beige foam. Aroma is sweet and malty, dark fruit and toffee. Feels a little thick and syrupy with some woodsy, wet leaves notes.

Pours a brownish copper. Medium off white head. Some lacing. Nice aroma of carmal and malt. Sweet carmal flavor. Overall a very nice beer. Palate could have been thicker, but the thinner palate added to the drinkability

12 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors. 2010 vintage. Pours a hazy reddish-brown with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of apple, berries, citrus, toffee and faint spice. The taste is toffee, apple, spice, citrus, toasted malts. Faint hops. Medium bodied, slight warmth, soft carbonation. Maybe just a tad bit past its prime but still tasty.
