The Baltic-style porter has a robust malt character and a slight herbal hop bitterness. Aged for 12 months in 10 year old Kentucky bourbon oak barrels, this alluring dark liquid features appealing undertones of vanilla, oak, cocoa and coffee. This aging occurs in abandoned mines in Michigan, at a constant temperature of 45F.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a dark amber with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong bourbon, wood, roast, oak. Medium mouthfeel with sweet roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, wood, and nice roast finish. Very good.

This is a very bourbon forward barrel aged porter. The booziness is apparent from the nose right from the get go. Definitely get a lot of toffee, caramel and chocolate here. At 12% this packs a punch, but it goes down easier than the ABV would have you imagine. A sipper with complexity and a smooth mouthfeel.

Aroma: chocolate and brown sugar with some raisin. Appearance: murky brown with fizzy beige head. Thick but quickly disappearing lacing. Taste: some sweet raisin that develops into plum. Slightly burning bourbon. Taste reminiscent of founders backwood bastard. Excellent alcohol masking. Palate: light body with lively carb. Dry and soft mouthfeel--like a red wine.

Pour is deep brown/red with a small tan coffee colored head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, dark caramel, vanilla, and booze. Flavor is medium bitterness and a touch of sweetness - caramel, chocolate, alcohol. Coffee on the finish. Reminds me of BCBS as it takes almost all of its flavor from characteristics of the barrel aging and the base beer is very hidden.

Pours opaque dark brown with a tan head with nice lacing. Aroma of cherry, chocolate, brown sugar and slight alcohol. Taste has a bit of sweetness to begin with chocolate and dark chocolate, vanilla, some slight coffee and some alcohol. Some roastiness also. Finishes dry with some roasty bitterness and slight alcohol burn. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft with a medium body and moderate carbonation. Very nice flavors. With a bit more depth could be great instead of just very good.

Very dark black a smattering of khaki head on surface. Smells of oak woodiness, brown sugar, chocolate, cherry. An alcohol bite to the taste, an oaky sweet syrup, cherry, chocolate, ends with some roasted malt, earthy coffee hop bitter that lingers on the tongue. A good sipper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a murky dark brown with no head . Aroma of bourbon hits you right off. Coffee and hint of chocolate in the background. Little hint of plum, caramel. Boozy, mildly sweet, moderately bitter. Full body with soft carbonation. Longy, boozy finish. Pretty good BA porter

Thanks steimie! 12 oz bottle into a tulip, vintage unknown but Iím pretty sure itís freshish. Pours a pitch black with a finger of khaki foam. Nice lacing and retention. Nose is an awesome mix of dusty bakers chocolate, roasted malts, oak, and vanilla with just a bit of spice. Really just a great blend of sweet and roasty with a mild but noticeable bourbon presence. Taste is similar. Milk chocolate segways into oak and sweet vanilla. Lingering wood and light roasty bitterness. 12% is incredibly well hidden behind a thin to medium mouth feel that feels like a porter but has some creaminess to it. One of the best BA porters Iíve tried. Just such a great bourbon integration. Really impressive beer.
