4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle to CBS snifter. Fairly opaque brown as I watch it slide out of the bottle yet it settles much darker with a smidgen of the aforementioned opaqueness creeping on the perimeter, yes folks this was once a porter. I had a few of these fresh out of the gate and thought they were hot and overly bourbon-ey (I did not rate at the time). Quarter inch off-brown head that dissipates quickly but never entirely disappears, smells of vanilla bean, whiskey, wood, and mocha. Taste is sweet and bourbon, medium mouthfeel, low carbonation, finish is long coffee. This is much better than the younger ones I have drank, I can see this possibly even getting better, however very nice right now. The heat has really dropped off, the bourbon is still in the forefront yet it seems like its on a journey to integrate with its friends. This is a nice winter sipper look forward to re-rating this a few winters from now.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Intoxicating aroma of bourbon, malt, coffee, chocolate and mud. Taste is far more dark coffee than chocolate. Bitter? Meh not so much. Just dark and boozy. Fun shit.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Willrunforbeer struggling to remove the wax off the top of the 12 oz. Bottle, why are brewers still waxing bottles? It does nothing to keep out air *sigh* anyhow, is straight up Rye whiskey, no hiding that. Nothing but whiskey. The flavor has a weaker note of whiskey then the aroma was leading me to believe. Roast, chocolate and integrated barrel. Body is what you find for Porter, a tad thin. But the flavor is very nice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle covered with lots of annoying red wax. Pours coca cola brown with a beige head. Aroma is raisin, chocolate, whiskey, vanilla. Flavor has the same, with a bit of oak in the finish. Good flavor, but a touch thin.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Magsinva. Pours black with a thin brown head. A bit of wood on the nose. Definitely has the characteristics of a Baltic porter on the tongue with hints of bourbon and wood. Hides its booze pretty well. Solid for style.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Looks good; a slightly translucent dark brown cola with bubbly beige head that steadily dissipates into thinner lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, vanilla, oak, roast, and mild notes of bitter hops. Tastes like it smells, but less decadent and more oaky. Mouthfeel is medium to medium-full bodied; a bit thin for 12%. Good, not great, and smells better than it tastes.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, thanks tim! Deep brown with tan head. Fruity aroma, vanilla, oak. Flavour is a very strong bourbon beer, fruit and vanilla are there but it’s quite boozy. Overall super nice though.
