mreusch (481), Olathe, Kansas, USA May 23, 2007 Bomber, pours a dark brown with a fizzy dark tan head that dissipates, slight lacing. Aroma of bourbon and roasted malts. Flavor is interestingly absent for some reason. Where did the flavor go? Some roastiness and maybe some vanilla and almond, but overall this is kind of a mess. Not horrible, but eh, whatcha gonna do with this one?
ketchepillar (312), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bomber purchased 1/08. Lots of sweet salty toffee in the aroma. Palate is slightly thin, but pretty good. Flavor: a bit odd, slightly acidic, the barrel aging comes through with lots of caramel & toffee. Candy sweetness. Finishes nicely bitter & dry. Chocolate. jjpm74 (3448), Connecticut, USA Nov 1, 2008 Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of sweet malt, oak, boozy bourbon. Tastes of sweet malt, sugar, some dry oaky qualities, some bourbon notes on the finish. Decent. alexsdad06 (688), Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2008 22 oz. bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is dark moderately roasted malts, dark fruits, bourbon, oak/wood with moderate sweetness. The flavor has a fairly large amount of bourbon and wood. The roasted malt is there, but not in the forefront. Medium bodied at best, very smooth drinking. I’m not sure how old the bottle was.
