COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The story of Brigid (pronounced "Breed") is one shrouded in mystery; equal parts pagan history and Catholic sainthood, the one thing that seems to hold true is that she embodies the fiery spirit of Ireland. Our paean to her is held within the confines of a fine Irish-style red ale, a proud exultation that is bright, bold, and smooth. Brewed with molasses for a hint of jammy dark fruit, low-medium hints of earthy hops come through, and creamy malt provides a calming backbone. A modest alcohol content keeps everything convivial, as thereís plenty to toast come early spring.

Enjoyed on tap at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, IL prior to going to a Blackhawks game with a bunch of friends. Appearance not too sure, in a dark bar but it looks red with a thin but pronounced off white head. Aroma rich in hops with a nice malt balance. Taste very smooth, abundant in stinky hops, also a bit of citrus with a rich malt backing. Real nice.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2015 On cask at In Fine Spirits Chicago. It was good. Bit of sweetness and a nice amount of hops for a red ale. Serving: Cask

On tap at Pizza House, East Lansing. Deep orange-brown body, thin creamy off-white head. Light, floral, spicy nose. Soapy, floral hops body with notes of bubblegum and toasty malts, with modest brown sugar and caramel malt balance. Bitter finish. Merely OK.

Draft at Graydonís Crossing. Pours medium amber, clear. Taste is a bit sweet, nice hint of hop bitterness. Complemented excellently by a full red ale aroma - musky malt, a bit sour, with robust berry flavor in the background. Recommended, if you can find it.

Draft Sample at MBG Winterfest 2010. Poured reddish brown with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet bitter flavor with a sweet finish of moderate duration. This beer would go well with spicy food.
