3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a light tan head that diminishes quickly leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Thin mouthfeel with a bready malt and sweet roast with dark fruits and raisin flavors. Alcohol is hidden well, a very good barley wine from Arcadia.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Received in trade from Fplumbs, thanks for the opportunity.
Pours a crystal clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a smallish off white head that slowly dissipates to a cap. Smells of dark brown sugar, raisins, prunes, and plums, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is filled with lots of dark and brown sugars, a bit of non descript fruit and a healthy dose of ethanol. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet almost syrupy mouthfeel. Decent barleywine, but a bit on the hot side. I enjoyed this, but I would be curious to see how a little age might affect this brew.

Very sweet and almost a thick taste (someone described it as syrup, and i can easily go along with that). The alcohol is definitely not hidden, but it is very good. I enjoyed the body/palate of this beer considering the alcohol taste

A better use for cereal than covering it with milk in your bowl! Complex and sweet this is a tasty BW.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle- Pours a dark mahogany color with a nice tan head that fades to no real lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, mostly raisin, some malt sweetness and spice. Hint of alcohol in the background. Taste of dark fruit, especially raisin, malt sweetness and some spice. Mild bitterness in the background with a dry finish. Fairly medium body, smooth and creamy texture. Just a tad too sweet. Nice barleywine that is quite drinkable. Worth a try.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Wow, this was a sickly sweet syrupy mess. Loads of sweet, saccrine, grainy malts. No hops tombe found except for the copious amounts of astringent bitterness in the finish. I really did not enjoy this.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma rather mellow with alcoholic side. Grainy hints with plenty of sweet malts.
Appearance hazed amber with medium tanned head. Light lace. 3+
Flavor and Palate : Sweet , hefty malts. One dimensional even for Barley Wine. Alcohol wrap helped somewhat. Good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a heavily murky (cider like quality) lightened brown with just a tint of copper. No head, extremely light carbonation, aroma of caramel, hops (pine), cinnamon, and notes of licorice and soy. Hits the mouth with wide top heavy body, malt is laced with caramel nicely, middle has a great warming feel which goes to the finish. Good stuff.

A sweet and viscous liquid. I had the 2009 edition. It really is smooth, but quite sweet.
