22 oz bottle, 2006 vintage. Pours red brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is a very strong sweet caramel, with some alcohol. Flavor is again the sweet caramel up front, then some alcohol, bread (or the titular cereal), and roastiness comes in. Hops only really come through in the bitter finish, along with a kind of stale bread flavor. A few things are a little off, but still quite enjoyable.

Nov 1, 2008 Pours brown with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, some dark fruit, citrus. Tastes of syrup, some dark fruit, some resiny hoppy hints.

Oct 28, 2008 Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a clear, dark amber-brown with a thick, foamy, orange-tan head. Sweet malt aroma, with dark fruits and a hint of molasses. Big taste, sweet and sharp, of malt, dark fruits, and pine. Lingering sharpness. Quite tasty.

Oct 26, 2008 On draft. A cloudy dirty brown in appearance with next to no head. Adark roma is sweet dried fruit. Taste is excellent. Dried dark fruit once again along with sweet toasted malt and a certain vinous character as well. Quite good. ABV is not overly assertive, but it does warm on the way down.

Oct 26, 2008 now how many people bought this for the name or label? i wonder, anyway to the review ... 2006: aged 2 years ... rum, chocolate, cherry, aged oak in the nose ... lots of dark fruits, honey, cherry skins in the teeth and tongue department ... great looking beer, good hot cocoa head ... mellowed still has ’’the LooK’’ (40 games, that’s 80 looks) ... a real nice barleywine that has aged quite nicely ...
