Pours a clear dark brown with a creamy two finger dark tan head, minor lacing. Aroma is lactose, milk chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is mostly the lactose and light chocolate. The flavor is more simplified than I’d hope, but a decent, easy drinking stout. I guess I’m also learning I’m just not a big fan of lactose. Thanks again Greg! Gregis (1136), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2008 Pours jet black with a small, foamy (almost fizzy) tan head that quickly diminishes to a small skin of bubbles. The nose is a sweet, roasty blend of malts behind a solid hit of sweet chocolate and light lactose. Medium-bodied and slick with a moderate lactose sourness/acidity at the finish. The flavor is a fairly lactose-forward blend of sweet and bitter chocolates and light roasted malt, finishing mildly dry and bitter-sweet. This is a decent stout that would probably be a solid candidate for making stout floats. Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2008 22 oz. brown bomber bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a black chocolate color, with red highlights. Has a sticky mocha colored head. Aromas are chocolate, licorice, malted milk balls, burnt sugars. Flavors are licorice, malted milk balls, burnt chocolate nibs, roasted malts, slightly sweet. Alcohol is well hidden. Thick mouthfeel, decent body. OK beer overall. Certainly deserves a higher rating. MartinT (5080), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Milk chocolate and molasses sweetness build liquid brownies for the roasted malts and leafy hops to balance out. This decent Stout is a pleasant novelty item.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the brown-sleeved black.
-Cocoa proudly lingers until the very end.
-Carbonation is quite effervescent, making this quite drinkable for its size.
-That label should be on a Breughel bottle.

Excellent, never dissipating, retention. The nose is of minerals, chocolate and light smoke. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Leans on the sweet side of balance. Chocolaty and sweet with very little complexity. Minerally, chocolaty-sweet finish. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2008 Draft @ Brewpub. Lactose intolerant people beware; this beer has a strong, sweet lactose flavor to it. Pours a dark black, and tastes of roasted, cascading chocolate malts. Sweet finish, characteristic of a sweet milk stout. I think the name implies that it is going to taste like chocolate, but it is just really malty. Beershine (2754), Traipsing Around, China
