The aroma picked up milky and darker chocolates, molasses, and vanilla.. very sweet with interesting asides of husk and drawn caramel.. a little like Cocoa Puffs mixed with cake. The flavor was just as expected.. sweeter chocolates and caramel reside at the core, with lightly sour milk chocolates.. more sour still on the finish.. ok, but not one of the better super-chocolate stouts I’ve had. Medium-bodied, dry, and a bit sour on the palate.. if the sourness was replaced with some smoothness, this could’ve been very good. thedm (3837), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew from Patrick 767 at a rating party poured a very large sized head of foamy with a frothy top fine to large sized bubbles that were and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body and thick foamy lacing. The aroma was musty and dark malt. The smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow dark malt aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild hops roasted malt and dark malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again, but still lacking something to make it special. vadavid (131), Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Pours very dark brown with a thick foamy light brown head, which stands up above the rim of the glass. Aroma chocolate and molasses, with some sourness in the background. Taste is sweet, chocolate, with some bitterness in the aftertaste. Tingly mouthfeel from the carbonation. Seems more like a sweet stout, was expecting more from a "triple" chocolate. Alcohol level is not apparent. At $3.50 a 12 oz bottle it’s over priced. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Foam Rangers January meeting. Very dark brownish black with mocha head. Rich roasted malts with an acidic chocolate nose. Flavor is acidic as well, with a roasted bitterness that I don’t love. Odd. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Dark malt. Acidic fruit. A hit of chocolate powder. Medium body without being too liquidy, not particularly creamy. Very acidic. Roast. Chocolate. Fruit, dark fruit. Perhaps a hint of cardboard? Weird lingering acidity. A bit of diacetyl, some chalk. Not terrible, not great. yjb (110), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours dense black with a great olive-green head. Earthy malt aroma with weak chocolate and leaves. Bitter/sour chocolate flavor is immediately noticeable, but it quickly gives way to expired dough and vegetables. Watery mouthfeel. Bad bottle???
