This triple chocolate stout is a unique interpretation of the style, combining three different chocolate malts, cacao nibs and sixty three percent semi-sweet chocolate, creating a sinfully delicious brew. The addition of blackstrap molasses produces an earthy, caramelized tone in an already complex flavor profile. It’s creamy, milkshake-like mouthfeel earns this beer the reputation of being dessert in glass

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Shindig. Black body with a tan head. Coffee malt aroma. Smoky and chunky. Flavour follows on from the aroma but is slightly better. Coffee again, lovely tangy malt and heavy chocolate but not overly sweet. Very pleasant woody notes too. More coffee in the finish. Almost great but just not quite there.

This just did not appeal to me. Very sweet and dark, as you can imagine. Just not very complex and a bit boring.

Bottle. Aroma was of roasted malts, bakers chocolate, and coffee. Average sized frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing head that left a fair lace. Body was deep dark and black/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately bitter and finishes the same but sour. Average duration. Palate is medium bodied with a texture like flat soda (thicker than water but lighter than oil). Flat carbonation with a light astringent feel on the finish. Fantastic brew, full of flavor and taste, with a beautiful appearance. The sour finish was a turn off and the only complaint I’d have. I’d recommend if your lactose tolerant, otherwise the next morning will be rough. Trust me

Pours very dark brown with a soapy caramel colored tan head. The aroma has milk chocolate, sharp lactic acid, brown sugar, molasseses and charred malt. Medium / thin body with underscored semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with bitter dark charred chocolate malt, light fruitiness and sharp flavors along with being on the water side, but still nice. The finish adds some extra bitterness and a nice lactic tang.

Thin light beige head of fine bubbles. Does not last long though. Rich chocolate aroma with some roasted grains and a bit of coffee. Not overly complex. Color is a very dark brown with just a little hint of red along the edges. Smooth flavor. Very easy drinking and quite refreshing for a stout. Medium bodied with more chocolate (milk), sweet malts and a touch of roasted coffee. Light bitterness late swallow. Finished creamy up front then a lingering dryness and sweetness. A pretty decent stout and one that I would likely try again.

2006 Vintage. Poured from a 22oz bottle into a tulip. This stout poured a deep black color with a big, rocky tan head that faded very slowly. Some uneven lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of this beer included a ton of milk chocolate and some roasted malts. The flavor was lightly bitter roasted malts, coffee, and some chocolate. Finished lightly bitter with some lasting chocolate left on the tounge. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with light carbonation. This was a nice stout. It had a robust, rich flavor that made it interesting enough to try again.

Bottle: Black, tan head, no lacing. Nose of cocoa, nice coffee and thick milky notes. Nice and roasty, sweet. Like a well made late. The flavor is heavy, sweet with lots of chocolate and licorice. Sweet coconut. Finish is again, lots of chocolate and more coconut. Lovely beer.

Darker brown pour with a nice tan head. Roasty, chocolate aroma with some coffee and roastiness detectable. Flavor has some chocolate and a drier roasted malt detectable. Dry, but well hopped. Nice!
