3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours black with a fully receding tan head. Aroma of dark crystal, chocolate, and lactose. Taste is roast, chocolate, dark crystal, and a slightly oxidized note. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lively carbonation. Not bad, but not impressed.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Fairly dark black and brown colored body with a creamy dark tan head. Nose has some faint burnt plastic, smoke and some charred grains. Peppery and zesty up front, some lactic sourness present, some chocolate malts and some pasty burnt milk flavors. Finish is dry, roasty, with char and tar flavors. I wasnít expecting much from the score but I find myself really enjoying this beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bottle shared by Sliffy - Pours black with a short tan head that fades pretty quick. Aromas of lots of chocolate, molasses, and some coffee.. A good amount of roasty notes there as well. Flavor is Cocoa mostly but there is some milk chocolate there too and some molasses with a good amount of roasted and burnt notes too. Smooth with medium/fulll body. Would make a great finish to a meal I think.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle courtesy of hopdog. Midnight black pour. Voluminous brown head. Spotty lacing. Nose is roasty but not overwhelming. Cocoa, bakerís chocolate and burnt cookie dough round out the aroma. Taste is pretty much the same. roasty malts, cocoa and bakerís chocolate but thereís the introduction of some lactic sourness. Itís noticeable but not detracting. Iíve had some organic, lowfat, chocolate yogurt, and at times this tastes like it. Body is light-medium and creamy carbonation. Chewy in spots. Finishes with stronger lactic tartness, more cocoa, receding chocolate and roasted malts. Goes well with brownies!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Fresh, dry stout aroma with a backbone of hop. Nice. Fully opaque body with a small light brown head. No lace to speak of. Initial mouthfeel explodes with flavor only to wither in the finish to some degree. Leaves a long, semi-sweet chocolate finish. Pretty good. Underrated I have to believe because of itís dryness. I see we have classified it as a "foreign stout". Since when has that been a category? This is clearly a dry stout. Lots of chocolate, but dry, dark, semi-sweet in nature. Fairly one dimensional. Would go super well with a dish of chocolate ice cream or chocolate mousse. Donít remember where I got this. Either Liquor Stop in Highland, IN or Samís Liquors in Downers Grove, IL.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice dark pour, thick head. Chocolate / burnt coffee aroma and flavor, but way too thin. Mild bittersweet finish.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
22oz bottle shared courtesy of zrrbrrt. Bottle labeled 2006 vintage. Poured dark and deep brown color with an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of molasses (that seem to step on/mute out the other aromas), light cocoa, and light roast. Tasets follow with a light coffee finish. With íCocoaí in the name, I was expecting a nice chocolage presence which wasnít there. Nothing really seemed to work well together. Thinner body with a dry finish. I was disappointed with this one.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to zzbrrt for sharing. Pours a deep black and a medium bubbly lightly lacing head. Aroma was fruity, hints of chocolate and some light roasted malts. Flavors of molasses, roasted malts, hints of chocolate and coffee...thinner than I expected.
