22 oz bomber. Poured a deep dark brown/black with an average size tan head. Aroma seemed to be a little off and had metallic notes mixed in with the chocolate aroma. Body was a little thin and also had a slightly dry aftertaste. Flavor was more raosted malt then chocolate but at least it didn’t have any metallic flavors unlike the aroma. Average beer at best.

Bottle sampled. Pours dark with a short compact tan head. Aroma of Chocolate malt, smoke, and molasses. The flavor is sweet, chocolatey, molasses, and a fair amount of bitterness to boot. Very smooth, good brew.

Bomber bottle and served in my Stone IRS snifter: Pours a near opaque muddy brown with a beautiful lasting tan foamy head and left very good lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of dusty powered and rich bittersweet chocolate, grassy and herbal hops, slight smoke, and a hint of molasses. The taste pretty much followed suit with layers of chocolate malt goodness balanced mostly by a hop bitterness and a smack down of black strap molasses twang. I also get a note of biscuit and dusty yeast too. The mouth feel is mostly smooth and creamy but still it could use just a bit more richness to top off this unique experience. For something slightly different from your normal stout, give this a try but be forewarned, it is not your standard fare. A hybrid between a sweet and foreign stout, dig some!

Disappointing. Pours dark brown with brown head. Aroma of chocolate and alcohol. Flavor was of chocolate, sweet malt, and alcohol. It was really smoothe but didn’t really have a taste. It seemed very light which means it hid the alcohol really well.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pretty dark blackish pour here, with 1-finger tan head. Aroma is heavy chocoff, chocolate malt, slight molasses. MEdium palate, which gets a tad lighter as it warms, with flavor notes of chocolate malt, dark chocolate syrup, ovaltine, and coffee.

22oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Poured black in color with a medium brown head that mostly lasted throughout. No lacing. Opaque. Flavor is lightly sweet and also a bit bitter. Tastes of cocoa, roasted malts, and a little cream. Tastes like chocolate powder. Medium body. Light, creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Dryish cocoa finish. Overall, simple and straightforward, but good.

Pour is the blackest i have ever seen a beer. Aroma is roasted malts and some chocolate. Flavor is more in your face. Lots of coffee with some chocolate and some wood smoke. Not overpowering in any catagory but that just makes it a bit more easy to drink. Worth looking for.

This is one hell of a stout. It pours a pefect jet black with huge notes of bitter dark chocolate. The choclate notes are pronounced with a slight hue of coffee. The mouthfeel is chewy but with ba smooth character and the finish goes on for an ample amount of time!

Shared by csbosox at Waldo Pizza, Kansas City, MO. Enjoyed with csbosox, Indra, tjthresh and dansting. Pour is a dark brown, heading towards black with a khaki head. Served room temperature, arome really popped out of this one. Very sweet chocolate and a bit roast in the aroma. Taste was milky, and very drinkable. I was surprised to see this listed as a FES, as it was far creamier, without the bite of a normal FES. Regardless, it was a nice stout.
