22 ox bomber
Moderate pour in a mug
Unknown brewing, crazied 06/07
Poured black with some brown highlights with a moderate frothy somewhat lasting brown head.
Smelt of moderate roasted grain, chocolate, molasses and light green hops.
Taste was upfront moderate bitter sweet baker’s chocolate, roasted grain and some odd light bitter sour green grain taste followed by some strong bitter chocolate and molasses on a long finish.
Palate was light to medium bodied, softly carbonated, lightly creamy and light to moderately carbonated.
Overall, I was surprised at how light bodied this beer was. A good summer time stout. Lots of new interesting flavors, but it seems to lack character and depth. Just plain pleasurable.
stison42 (311), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Aug 26, 2008 Black. Little head. Sweet aroma. Sweet Taste. Soda like. Thin. Some chocolate taste but not as much as I hoped for. Not clean tasting. rugbydude05 (162), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle, NYC. Pours a dark brown color, aroma is amazingly smooth and is of chocolate and coffee and not harsh at all as I would have expected. Taste was also very sweet but balanced out by a very smooth palate and a flavor that fills the mouth. Aftertaste is mild and pleasant cgarvieuk (2350), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 19, 2008 Bottle at Chris o’s Thanks to who ever sent me this … deep red black, deep roast malts, bit fizzy, loads of chocolate, sweet smooth roast malts, good stout omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Near black, minimal head. Cardboardy nose with some cranberries. Sweetish with mushy molasses covering a hard, edgy core of metallic malt. Chocoalte is vague, unpleasant lactic acidity is strong, and so is blood and sharp metal. Really unbalanced and aggressive. I couldn’t even finish half of it. KUEric (558), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Aug 16, 2008 Deep and dark. The aroma isn’t much, but chocolate hints and some some roasted maltiness. The flavor was a little much for me. Just too much sweet, too much flavor overall, I’m but a wee boy.
