Tasty, yet a bit of a light aftertaste. This combination sounds like it should be very sweet, but is more burnt carmelly than sweet. A good beer, but nothing I will seek out again.

Backlog rating 12-31-2008 (Bottle shared by patrick767 at Fort Wayne RB Gathering) This beer pours a tan medium sized fizzy head that mostly diminished, floaties, one ring of lacing, opaque body, and a dark brown hue. The Aroma is roasty, burnt, malty, semi-sweet, and chocolate. The Flavor mimics the Aroma. The Palate is fairly smooth and this is a medium bodied beer. All-in-all, this beer is quaffable and has a nice balance between the Aroma and the Flavor.

Bottle. Nose some heavy, sludgy chocolate with fruit and a touch of mineral, they really nailed the aromatic profile of a foreign stout with cocoa embellishment. Darkbrown to pitch with a short and fizzy light brown head. Taste is sweet with very light bitterness, a lot of crisp hard roast, lots of burned and flamed carbon notes, chocolate, faint astringency and mild spice (could be from the hops, not sure). Body is overly full with a little alcohol heft, could probably benefit from an addition of oats and the silk it would bring. This is just super, super big, too big really, feels like it occupies the space of a 25% beer in my throat and stomach, though the lesser alcohol that is here is actually somewhat refined and even a little classy, spiritual.
