COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This triple chocolate stout is a unique interpretation of the style, combining three different chocolate malts, cacao nibs and sixty three percent semi-sweet chocolate, creating a sinfully delicious brew. The addition of blackstrap molasses produces an earthy, caramelized tone in an already complex flavor profile. It’s creamy, milkshake-like mouthfeel earns this beer the reputation of being dessert in glass

Bottle and draught, Spring 2008 at Sunset Grill. Very thick, viscous-looking mahogany-to-black body with a dense tan head. Tar and chocolate rise up from the liquid, with cinnamon??? and other such spices coming in as well. Very rich nose to it, with vanilla as an afterthought. In the mouth it’s somewhat less chewy/thick than expected, with a more dried-out mouthfeel, thanks in part to the spiciness. They don’t really say anything about spice additions, but man is this stuff full of cinnamon. To the point of it being way too much. Chocolate element is well-done and would have been highly pleasant without the dry, fatiguing spiciness. Vanilla and sweet caramel round out the finish, with little in the way of roast or bitterness. Some floral hop notes are appreciated but lend little to the overall character of the beer. Too spicy!

Does not deliver on anything it advertises and lacks any stout like qualities. So disappointing on every level. Not worth discussing.

Sour raspberry aroma. Appearance is brown with poor tan colored head. Flavor is oxidized and sour with muted notes of cocoa and raspberry. Mouthfeel is medium with medium light carbonation. Overall, the beer tastes old and infected. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The label is quite deceiving.. I actually expected a deep chocolate taste or hints overall.. I got none of that . I’m not going to go into detail what the head, notes, complexion was .. because overall.. it doesnt matter.. this beer was horrible. Sad part is, at the store i bought it, the selling point was the fact that it said 98 rating on ratebeer. Quite disappointed. Never again

Average stout at best. Super carbonated and very thin in flavor. Has a very malty flavor. Not much in he means of coffee or roasted malt flavor. Pours black with a tan head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour on nitro tap, dark brownish black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, roast, coffee, hints of slight dark fruit with a hint of earth, slight caramel, alright. Taste is pretty good, nice cocoa powder, coffee, roasted malt into some dark caramel, toffee, more cocoa, finishing fairly sweet, slightly dry.

12 oz bottle. This isn’t triple chocolate, it isn’t double chocolate. I’m hesitant to even call it single chocolate. Unsweetened lactose, cocoa powder. Brownish roasted malt. Kinda boring. Has the aftertaste of a post Taco Bell burp.

Transfer from BA review on 2-18-14- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – The beer is served an almost pitch black color with tiny of tan colored head. The heads fades almost instantly leaving only a trace of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is huge of a sweet cocoa and milk chocolate smell. Along with these aromas are some notes of roasted malt as well as notes of cream, vanilla, and caramel mixed within. Overall quite chocolaty and delicious. Taste – The taste begins of a semi-sweet chocolate and roasted malt flavor mixed with a cocoa powder taste. As the flavor moves forward, more sweet chocolate comes to the tongue with it being joined by vanilla and caramel flavors as well. A milkier like flavor grows in the taste with some hints of darker fruits as well. The darker fruits are mainly of a raisin and plum giving a nice balance to the chocolate flavors of the brew. In the end, with a light earthy flavor also coming to the tongue, and with the big dose of sweet chocolate and the lighter darker fruits flavors of the brew, one is left with a pleasant fruit chocolate bar flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. The lower carbonation is fantastic for the chocolaty flavors of the brew although a bit thicker of a body would have likely been more appropriate for the style. Overall the mouthfeel is rather decent. Overall – A rather tasty chocolaty brew with some nice big flavors. Sweet and delicious!
