Commercial Description:
Anniversaries are meant to be celebrated, and as we looked back on 11 years of “balance in beer,” we decided to take a walk on the wild side with this year’s Anniversary Ale. Our brewers were finally turned loose to craft a beer that’s focused on the hops, and the result is Hop Rocket… Arcadia’s 11th Anniversary Ale.

Hop Rocket is a veritable constellation of hops… including some varieties that we haven’t used in other beers, and it’s delivered by the same booster of worldclass malt that our loyal fans have come to know and love with all Arcadia Ales. We appreciate the opportunity to share with you this “launch” of our 12th years, and we hope you’ll enjoy the ride with Arcadia Hop Rocket!

GABF 2008 poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of pine, earthiness, orange, grapefruit and light straw. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a lightly dry fin ish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit rind with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Bottled@Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet fruits, peach, flowery and wooden hops along with some rather grassy notes. Flavour is much the same. Mild nectary notes in the finish. Pleasant.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a clear amber golden with a rough off-white head. Caramel, fruits, hops and alcohol in the nose. Quite full-bodied with a solid malt base that balances the distinct bitterness and alcohol rather nicely. But perhaps the hop profile is not the most sophisticated. 210908

12oz - Aroma is pungent pine hops and caramel malt. Pours cloudy orange-brown with a medium head and great lacing. The flavor is both pine and citrus hops with a nice caramel finish. Palate is tart. A very nice full bodied IIPA.

Clear amber with tiny white head. Sweet and hoppy aroma with caramel and pine notes. Seriously hoppy flavour with notes of grapefruit, pine and caramel. End solid bitter.

Having tried a few other Arcadia ales, I was weary to buy a four-pack of this one. However, when Binny’s started breaking this up into single bottles, I decided what the hell. Pours amber with a sticky head. Nose is of lots of great hops, and some astringent. Nice piney, citrus hoppy flavor and caramel malt, though it could use a bit more malt. Mouthfeel is average, I expected a little more. Alcohol is present in the flavor and adds to the solvent-like quality. Overall, I was impressed, but that’s because I wasn’t expecting much.

A big headwith small bubbels. A realy perfect pale colour. Rather small hop aroma and some solvents present. A big hop taste with some bitterness followed by a small clean caramell taste to give a dry finnish.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Amber colour with a big, frothy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, pine needles and caramel. Fruity, malty taste with grapefruit, orange peel, black-currant, pine needles and resin. Long hoppy finish with a touch too much alcohol and sweetness coming through to give it a perfect balance. But still, if you love your hops, it’s a very nice one.
