Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Apr 26, 2008 murky orange with not much head.wet and juicy citrus/pine aroma.crisp clean mouthfeel with a medium hop profile.easy drinking @ 9% Lothore (276), California, USA Apr 26, 2008 A- Pours a fairly clear orange hue with a small but sustinate white head.
S- Smells sweet with a thick malt backbone and very grassy smelling hop notes.
T- Taste starts off with the grassy notes as in the nose, moves into a doughy maltiness followed by a hop bitterness that can’t really be described as grapefruity or piney, perhaps leaning towards citrusey grapefruit but there is definitely a unique flavor to it.
M- Thick with just the right amount of carbonation.
D- I enjoyed this one but it definitely isn’t one that I would session. There is that off grassy note that throws me a bit but other than that it’s a solid double IPA. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 25, 2008 Bottle from the rater formally known as mjames, mj and osama bin laden ;-). Pour is a murky brown/ copper coller. Aroma is mostly citrus hops and sweet fruit. Taste is malty sweetness balanced by a nice amount of hops. Smooth palate and very drinkable. LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Apr 25, 2008 Pours a hazy dark gold color with a nice off white head.Great sweet, almost candy-like hop aroma, with citrus and pine aromas. Flavor is of hops, and more hops with just a touch of malt backing. Great bitter finish that lasts and lasts!! Well done! waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Apr 24, 2008 bottle. hazy deep copper pour. thin head. large earthy hops, mild citrus, rich caramel malt aroma. large body. big hops and big malts. bitter. chewy. nice bitterness. Very nice. nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 24, 2008 12 oz. Hazy orange pour with a thin white head. Smells pretty nice - citrus zest (esp. orange), pine, fresh cut grass. Really fresh and green. A tiny bit of alcohol comes through. Enough sweetness in the aroma to balance the hops. The hops hit me a little differently than usual for some reason. Down the sides of my tongue. Finish is like hops and seltzer. For some reason, I don’t think it’s overly hoppy, but it could just be me today. Good body and carbonation. Really the only Arcadia beer that I’ve had worth drinking. Well done. brewblackhole (1366), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Apr 21, 2008 Fresh ,sprite, fireworks type of hops, citrusy and piney at first ,settling down to a spicey grain grapefruit rind aroma. The taste is a cluster attack of multiple incoming hops. The citrus hops challange those tongue twisting bittering hops for possesion of your bittering taste buds, war ensues ,millions of taste buds lives are lost, the malt is just a poor bystander lobbing little gernades of flavor ,hopelessly trying to balance this nectar out, but the Shock and Awe rocket attack of hops is completely dominate. When the smoke clears ,its that wonderful bittering impression that stands victorious, and all the hopheads on your tongue weep for joy and wave the Arcadia Flag. Truely a gift for a martyr’s paradise WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 21, 2008 12oz bottle bonus from a ways back, not sure from who. Pours gold orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet and hoppy with lots of resin. Taste is overall pretty nice and big, with a lingering citrus hoppyness. Good overall brew.
