This Imperial IPA has an assertive aroma of sticky, resinous Summit hops. A complex flavor profile includes notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, and spruce. Though the flavor focus is on hops, a trio of malts provides a balance to the beer, creating a delicious level of palatability. Hints of caramel, toffee, and freshly-baked biscuits are also apparent in the flavor profile.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Slightly hazy medium amber, thin rim head, no lace. A very still Ale. Nice aroma of malt and hops. Taste is flat malt that turns into hops, but has no life (maybe this one is kaput). Add to that the strong alcohol presence, and this moves to my "not recommended" file. Maybe some other time...

355ml bottle. Cost a buck but looks like this is older.Boozy alcoholic hop perfume in the smell. Flavor is oxidized, some fruit notes, booze. Wonder how old htis is.

Bottle. Nose is rind, strong orange peel and paper, also this great candyish character that I donít find that often. Pour a deep but bright orange, still transparent with almost no carbonation, sudsy off-white head. Extremely oily medium body with strong alcohol heat and feel but not many fumes; medium bitterness just enough to match the medium-strong sweetness, but not cloying. Papery scratch in with light resin and a general sugary feel, herbal and forest character late-arriving with faint spice. Caramel weak, but simple malt is nice, if hidden under the booze. A sipper, for sure, but a nice one off the beaten path.

Strong, bitter hoppiness up front through the finish. Hints of citrus and some earthiness. Not very floral, but well rounded.

Pours a light gold color with a quickly dissipating white foam head. Aroma is hops and citrus, slight but still good. Flavor is very disappointing. Citrus hops are slight at the head, but the body and finish are dominated by an overly sweet syrupy taste. There is a very light amount of bitterness as well. It is different than a lot of other DIPAs Iíve had, just not in a good way.

Clear brew with a orange colour. Hops, resin and citrus on the aroma but I also get a certain yeasty note that I donít enjoy. Resinous, some sweetness and a full body make this a decent brew but I find something off about this one.

Poured into shaker glass a orangey amber. Cloudy with no head, a white film. The smallest of lacing. Aroma was not the citrus blast I was expecting. It was there but I got more pine and floral. It reminded me of being in Jerseyís pine barrens on a early erik day. Taste was pine resins, malts and some citrus. Citrus grew in finish. A small amount of alcohol at the tail end but not much, seems balanced. Lighter to medium body, slick. Nice effort and enjoyed.

12oz bottle - pours an orangey/gold with thin white head . Mild pine and juicy citrus aromas . Taste is grapefruit meets tangerine . Mild bitterness . One of the better offerings I've had from Arcadia . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at Danís on February 14. The pour is a nice gold-ish amber with a nice white film of head. The lace is pretty decent as well. The aroma is big on citrus and hops. It then fades almost to a sweet, hop-induced funk. The flavor doesnít do the aroma justice. It starts off sweet, too sweet. It then moves through a brief citrusy hoppiness thatís rather good, but fades quickly to an overly-bitter finish. There is a strong grassy note on the bitterness at the end as well. The mouth feel is pretty decent, but the aftertaste lingers and lingers. Were it better, it would be welcome, but this one doesnít taste as great as you would like. As such, itís solid on the palate. I just wish it tasted better.
