Commercial Description:
Anniversaries are meant to be celebrated, and as we looked back on 11 years of “balance in beer,” we decided to take a walk on the wild side with this year’s Anniversary Ale. Our brewers were finally turned loose to craft a beer that’s focused on the hops, and the result is Hop Rocket… Arcadia’s 11th Anniversary Ale.

Hop Rocket is a veritable constellation of hops… including some varieties that we haven’t used in other beers, and it’s delivered by the same booster of worldclass malt that our loyal fans have come to know and love with all Arcadia Ales. We appreciate the opportunity to share with you this “launch” of our 12th years, and we hope you’ll enjoy the ride with Arcadia Hop Rocket!

was waiting to try this one. Finally found it on tap. Smelled very nice. Nice citrus smell. Taste was nice and fruity. I had hopslam on tap after this and hopslam blew it out of the water. But don’t let that stop you from trying it.

Courtesy hopscotch. Pours a genuine copper color. Nice sticky lacing. Spicy piney hops in the nose, and a slight sourness. Real tangy hops on the tongue, mostly Amarillo ctirusy stuff. A bit of an astringent quality, too. Balances, albeit a bit thick and syrupy.

Courtesy hopscotch. Pours a cloudy light amber color with a small off white head. Smells of sweet hops, a little earth, and a decent malt presence as well. The flavor comes back at you with pretty monster hops, with the malts hanging on to try to balance it out somewhat. Very hoppy though. Good thing. Alot of grapefruit citrus and hop bitternessin the finish. Solid double IPA. Pretty tasty stuff.

12oz from Rodman’s, D.C. Whoa, this is one hop-tastic face-wrecker of a beer. Like Two Hearted on HGH rather than a SoCal DIPA clone, this is unbelievably fresh. A strongly floral nose is mighty promising, but this thing really punches you in the face with a deep, dank wet hop flavor. Exceedingly tasty and dangerously drinkable, don’t take it as a criticism if I say this is NOT particularly complex or balanced - it’s powerfully insistent, with a lovely character. Really, really good.

Pours a brownish amber with a decent sized crème head that falls to nothing fairly soon. Nose is sticky piney hops. Smells thick like syrup. Flavor is thick, acidic, and oddly fruity hops. The fruit quickly goes away and you are left with a full and robust tone. Feel is smooth. Nice carbonation. This is as drinkable as any other DIPA I’ve had before. Extremely well balanced.

12 oz bottle pours a hazy straw color. Aroma is of strong citrus hops. Flavor is grapefruit and pine with a little malt sweetness to balance things out.

Draft: Poured a clear orange/copper color with a sizeable white head. Strong, hoppy-ass aroma that pretty much drowned out anything else. Some slight citrus notes were present but they were bullied out by this hop-bomb. Flavor follows to a "T" and ultimately this could be one of the most intense IIPA’s that I’ve had. Great stuff.
