Commercial Description:
Anniversaries are meant to be celebrated, and as we looked back on 11 years of “balance in beer,” we decided to take a walk on the wild side with this year’s Anniversary Ale. Our brewers were finally turned loose to craft a beer that’s focused on the hops, and the result is Hop Rocket… Arcadia’s 11th Anniversary Ale.

Hop Rocket is a veritable constellation of hops… including some varieties that we haven’t used in other beers, and it’s delivered by the same booster of worldclass malt that our loyal fans have come to know and love with all Arcadia Ales. We appreciate the opportunity to share with you this “launch” of our 12th years, and we hope you’ll enjoy the ride with Arcadia Hop Rocket!

12oz bottle. Dark melon color with a decent head of creamy, lumpy, lacy froth. Resinous and bitter aroma. Flavors are bitter and spicy. This is a rough and tumble IPA. The only smoothness to this is in the finish.

Had a funky initial aroma - no joke, almost like BO. That soon gave way to a more traditional, quite enjoyable one. Taste was pretty different from aroma - sweet, fruity, yet bitter; very well-rounded and hid alcohol just enough. Taste and feel were superb. Good bitter aftertaste.

Pint @ South Philadelphia Taproom, Great aroma, Sweet, citrusy, orange, tangerinem honey, toffee. Clean golden orange color, Good head that quickly faded to a ring, Ok lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Thick body, Oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finsih, Tasty brew, Aroma was wonderful to sniff. Flavor didn’t match intensity of aroma, but no slouch either. good stuff.

Bottle - Mondial de la Bière, Montréal. Amber body with an average off-white foamy head. Malty/hoppy aroma carries some spicy/herbal notes. Sharp hoppy taste with sweet/fruity notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Ends with a long, robust, bitter finish.

This one poured a lighter ruby red color with a smaller off white head. Aroma was pungant and spicey hops, a bit citrusy as well. Flavor was also dank spical herbal hops, a bit piney and strange fruit flavors as well. A very different and good IIPA

2009-06-05. Crisp orange amber body with a small white head. (3+) Really interesting, pleasant hoppy aroma up front. Sort of a fruity character to the hops that is not quite citrus, which carries over into the flavour as well. Pleasant bitterness throughout. Interesting fruit notes (akin to lychee) with a pleasant bitterness throughout that lingers. Average palate. Pleasant, interesting hops! Bottle at Mondial 2009, Montreal
