Anniversaries are meant to be celebrated, and as we looked back on 11 years of “balance in beer,” we decided to take a walk on the wild side with this year’s Anniversary Ale. Our brewers were finally turned loose to craft a beer that’s focused on the hops, and the result is Hop Rocket… Arcadia’s 11th Anniversary Ale.

Hop Rocket is a veritable constellation of hops… including some varieties that we haven’t used in other beers, and it’s delivered by the same booster of worldclass malt that our loyal fans have come to know and love with all Arcadia Ales. We appreciate the opportunity to share with you this “launch” of our 12th years, and we hope you’ll enjoy the ride with Arcadia Hop Rocket!

Malty sweetness mixed with grapefruit and citrus aroma. Hop flavor is pine like, slightly fruity, and spicy. Malt is perfectly balanced with the hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazed amber color with a slight white head. Nice aroma of fruity hops. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet fruit starts gives way to nice citrus rind flavors and bitterness. Decent

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated very hazy light brown colored body. Hotstuff’s pour was strangely crystal clear. The nice aroma was hoppy and musty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of mild hops. An OK brew just nothing special.

12 oz bottle...unfortunately, this displays a kind of ’muddiness’ that is often found in imperial IPAs. The bright hop flavors and notes are pretty much missing...tasted like it was stale dated (and for all I know it may have been).

Cloudy orange tan head. A year old so not fresh. Still not a bad beer. Aroma lacking. Taste is citric. Pretty good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours cloudy yellow. Smell of pine hops and not much else. Taste is extremely muddled and fails to hide any alcohol flavor. Chewey mouthfeel and sort of flat. Wondering if I got an old/compromised bottle. This was not good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy amber copper. No head. Grassy smell. Somewhat hot. Medium body. Lingering bitterness.

Pours golden in color with some hazy gritt. lightly carb’d and almost no head. Hop aroma is light as well as the malts. Hops have a slight citrus bouquet. Taste is floral hops and overly sweet malts. Alcohol warming at the end. A plain weak beer with nothing outstanding about itself.

Typical citrus, pine, resin aroma, but there seems to be a big dose of floral honey, and some big cereal malts. Thick mouthfeel, low carb. Viscous finish, very very bitter. Loads of pine, and soapy pine in the finish with the big malts rounding it allout.

one of my favorite IPAs. love the citrus/grapefruit aromas. not too much head. nice orange color. tastes similar to how it smells with citrus, bitter and slight alcohol on finish. not over-spiced and not a typical imperial IPA finish. really like this one.
