COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Imperial IPA has an assertive aroma of sticky, resinous Summit hops. A complex flavor profile includes notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, and spruce. Though the flavor focus is on hops, a trio of malts provides a balance to the beer, creating a delicious level of palatability. Hints of caramel, toffee, and freshly-baked biscuits are also apparent in the flavor profile.

Light brown to orange pour that was mostly clear. Small amount of white head. Strong orange and lemon citrus hops aroma, wow. Subtle and well blended taste between malt and hop bill. Strong grapefruit that’s bitter and sweet. Soft carbonation, a little dry finish and oily mouthfeel. I remember this beer being better and look forward to trying it again.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 2/28/13, as Arcadia Hop Rocket Imperial India Pale Ale

Aroma: The aroma is an odd mix of pine and grapefruit hops with some musky cologne
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange color with a small, bubbly white head and medium lace
Flavor: Tastes muddled, there’s a nice hop bitterness, but the it becomes off toward the end palate
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation, and a fairly dry finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: It has a solid hop feel, but there’s just something off about this one, and it comes from what I can best describe as a musky cologne. That’s not a perfect description, but it’s the closest thing I can think of. It really is just weird, musky and earthy component that makes the whole beer feel a little muddled and off. Everything else was solid, but that part was hard to get past.

12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops and a good amount of caramel and toasted malts. Flavor the same, with the hops sort of tame. Average texture. A decent beer but not the best of its style.

Draft. Apricot color. Complex taste: wood, malt, hint of citrus. Medium body from start to finish. Seemed boozier than 9%.

Thanks Mike. Enjoyed in a wine glass. 3 finger pillow-like head. Copper appearance. Nose is very piney. lots metallic notes. taste is like a penny with some pine and grapefruit thrown in. not too complex. hint of booze at the finish.

Malty sweetness mixed with grapefruit and citrus aroma. Hop flavor is pine like, slightly fruity, and spicy. Malt is perfectly balanced with the hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazed amber color with a slight white head. Nice aroma of fruity hops. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet fruit starts gives way to nice citrus rind flavors and bitterness. Decent

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a softly carbonated very hazy light brown colored body. Hotstuff’s pour was strangely crystal clear. The nice aroma was hoppy and musty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of mild hops. An OK brew just nothing special.
