Commercial Description:
Anniversaries are meant to be celebrated, and as we looked back on 11 years of “balance in beer,” we decided to take a walk on the wild side with this year’s Anniversary Ale. Our brewers were finally turned loose to craft a beer that’s focused on the hops, and the result is Hop Rocket… Arcadia’s 11th Anniversary Ale.

Hop Rocket is a veritable constellation of hops… including some varieties that we haven’t used in other beers, and it’s delivered by the same booster of worldclass malt that our loyal fans have come to know and love with all Arcadia Ales. We appreciate the opportunity to share with you this “launch” of our 12th years, and we hope you’ll enjoy the ride with Arcadia Hop Rocket!

Bottle - Pours hazy golden amber with a medium head. Aroma is wonderful--grassy, citrusy, floral hops. Very sweet and pungent smell. The flavor dissapoints. It starts out with a lot of malt, then hits with some real bitter hops and almost a syrupy sweetness that permeates throughout. It almost tastes like honey and sugar, and it really distracted and knocked the balance totally off. It’s real oily and sticky on the mouth--not pleasant at all.

Pours hazy golden color with small off white head. Huge orange lemon nose, and lots of fresh green pin/grass, some exotic fruits mango, very nice aroma. Caramel and a good amount of malts balance the immediate hit of hops. The hop flavors and aroma stand out to be fairly unique in a often replicated beer style. Thoroughly enjoyable.

bottle I am guessing is a year old from the ratings here poured a orange amber color with a thin off white head. aroma has caramel sweetness, dank hops, and faint dying citrus. mouth feel is a nice medium and the carbonation just enough. flavor leans to the malted side but there is still a stiff resinous hops punch.

Pours turbid dull orange with 2-finger off-white white head and sticky lacing. Nose is resiny hops, caramel malt, pineapple, canteloupe, tangerine, black pepper. Tastes bready caramel malty, with resiny hops, very piney, tangerine, pineapple, white pepper (nose is black, taste is white)....Very Ruination-like in flavor. Rich, complex palate, but needs a bit more malt to match this gargantuan hop load. Still, a beer I would gladly drink any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. If it was another Steeler Super Bowl Sunday, I’d gladly drink 12 bottles of this. Get ya some, and do it now, and let’s all give these guys more respect, because they certainly deserve it! Out of whack my ass.

Sweet and perfume smelling, OK looking with a nice hazy amber color and a small, bubbly head. Taste starts out nice and sticky with typical caramell character but ends on a rather harsh unpleasant perfumey hop note alongside some alcohol taste. OK but that’s it.
