This beer really drove the point home. The malt profile still dominated this I2PA. Needs more hops to be in this style. pjweaver (133), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2008 12 oz bottle pours a cloudy golden orange with a large foamy/bubbly/creamy off white head that left a bunch of sticky lacing down the side of the glass. Aroma was a wonderful mix of pink grapefruit, pine, floral hop notes, malty sweetness, caramel and lots of orange. Actually I spend more time with this the orange hard candy notes are really coming across in the nose. Flavor of a bunch of hoppy goodness. Pine, orange, grapefruit, very resinous, lots of sweet caramel malts, some cereal grains, light alcohol present especially as it warms up a bit. Hop bitterness is surely there, but the malt sweetness of this hop bomb helps it from being too over the top bitter. flatmatt (223), Northville, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours orange amber with some floating debris and a stable off-white head. Aroma very citrusy hops with a touch of spiciness and a definite sweetness, but a little weak overall. Flavor is nice and hoppy citrus with a bit of sweetness. Nice bitterness, but a bit of alcohol pokes through in the flavor. Bitter, dry finish with some biscuit flavors. A pretty nice, simple IIPA. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2008 GABF 2008. Clear bright golden colour, resinous aroma with detectable sweet malts. Palate is a little on the thin side for a beer this size, but the hop quotient is there with lots of grapefruit and resin.
