This Imperial IPA has an assertive aroma of sticky, resinous Summit hops. A complex flavor profile includes notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, and spruce. Though the flavor focus is on hops, a trio of malts provides a balance to the beer, creating a delicious level of palatability. Hints of caramel, toffee, and freshly-baked biscuits are also apparent in the flavor profile.

Poured an effervescent dark amber with a fizzy/frothy off-white head. Decent aroma of some pine and citrus hops with a touch of earthy bitterness. Flavor is quite good with notes of sweet toffee and strong pine hops... earthy bitterness with little metallic flavor. I didnít know this was a DIPA, although that would certainly explain the dark color and richer body, though the hop profile did not strike me as being that prominent. Still, a good drink.

Tap. A clear golden pour. Aromas of citrus and flowery hops, orange, sweet malts, a touch of b.o. Sweet taste initially, but a medium to strong bitterness kicks in that lasts. Overly sweet, in my opinion. A bit syrupy/sticky. Medium+ bodied.

355 mL bottle. Beautiful looking beer. Clear golden with a big, fluffy, sticky white head. Fruity hops in the nose. A little on the mild side. The flavour is lovely, and more balanced than many others. Sweet citrus, resin and a little pine, with some honey from the malts. Bitterness is a touch light, and the alcohol is well hidden. A very drinkable IIPA.

I really wish there was a date on the bottle. Is this an 8 year old DIPA or a shitty DIPA or both? Buttery. Hoppy aroma but not in taste. Meh. Not retired. Not nutty. Iím confused.

Horribly unbalanced honey and caramel. Terrible harsh aftertaste of rotten booze. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Slightly hazy medium amber, thin rim head, no lace. A very still Ale. Nice aroma of malt and hops. Taste is flat malt that turns into hops, but has no life (maybe this one is kaput). Add to that the strong alcohol presence, and this moves to my "not recommended" file. Maybe some other time...

355ml bottle. Cost a buck but looks like this is older.Boozy alcoholic hop perfume in the smell. Flavor is oxidized, some fruit notes, booze. Wonder how old htis is.

Bottle. Nose is rind, strong orange peel and paper, also this great candyish character that I donít find that often. Pour a deep but bright orange, still transparent with almost no carbonation, sudsy off-white head. Extremely oily medium body with strong alcohol heat and feel but not many fumes; medium bitterness just enough to match the medium-strong sweetness, but not cloying. Papery scratch in with light resin and a general sugary feel, herbal and forest character late-arriving with faint spice. Caramel weak, but simple malt is nice, if hidden under the booze. A sipper, for sure, but a nice one off the beaten path.

Strong, bitter hoppiness up front through the finish. Hints of citrus and some earthiness. Not very floral, but well rounded.

Pours a light gold color with a quickly dissipating white foam head. Aroma is hops and citrus, slight but still good. Flavor is very disappointing. Citrus hops are slight at the head, but the body and finish are dominated by an overly sweet syrupy taste. There is a very light amount of bitterness as well. It is different than a lot of other DIPAs Iíve had, just not in a good way.
