12 oz bottle. Foggy amber with a white head that leaves lacy sheets. Nose is orange pineapple and caramel. Medium light with a fluffy mouthfeel. Taste is muted grapefruit, apple and toffee. Dries with pine sap; a touch too bitter and perfumy.

Jul 3, 2009 Pours a nice amber orange with thick off-white head, strong lacing. Aroma strong of floral hops, strong malt, slight citrus, and a bit of caramel. Flavor matches well with the addition of spice and a bit of an earthy taste that I wasn’t expecting. Finishes a bit dry with a good bitterness left in the aftertaste. Altogether, not bad, but not my favorite.

Jun 27, 2009 Poured an effervescent dark amber with a fizzy/frothy off-white head. Decent aroma of some pine and citrus hops with a touch of earthy bitterness. Flavor is quite good with notes of sweet toffee and strong pine hops... earthy bitterness with little metallic flavor. I didn’t know this was a DIPA, although that would certainly explain the dark color and richer body, though the hop profile did not strike me as being that prominent. Still, a good drink.

Jun 23, 2009 By just looking at the bottle, even smelling and drinking this hoppy ale, you would think it is just a very nice IPA. Pacific Northwestern hops, nice mouthfeel. Golden amber with large white head and leaving lace lines. Well malted and fairly balanced for a DIPA. Premiere Gourmet.

Jun 18, 2009 Draft in tulip glass at the brewpub. Pours a light amber. Small off white head. Excellent lacing. Strong pine aroma. Big hoppy flavor with lots of carmal. Very thick body. Nice mouthfeel. Really like this one

The look: Clear dark golden body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nice nose of citrusy and coniferous hops, indubitably American. A nice moderately toasted malt backbone with 2/3 caramel 1/3 honey sweetness. In mouth the hops have a bit of everything with not specific flavour coming on top, fruity, a little pine tree, a little grassy, a little floral, a little resinous. Long finish with a bitterness of medium intensity. No alcohol presence. This is a robust IIPA that is very tasty but not very refreshing. Very straightforward yet most breweries can’t make a solid IPA like this one, as if it was hop rocket science.

Jun 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Dark melon color with a decent head of creamy, lumpy, lacy froth. Resinous and bitter aroma. Flavors are bitter and spicy. This is a rough and tumble IPA. The only smoothness to this is in the finish.

does not count  Jun 12, 2009 Had a funky initial aroma - no joke, almost like BO. That soon gave way to a more traditional, quite enjoyable one. Taste was pretty different from aroma - sweet, fruity, yet bitter; very well-rounded and hid alcohol just enough. Taste and feel were superb. Good bitter aftertaste.

Jun 10, 2009 Pint @ South Philadelphia Taproom, Great aroma, Sweet, citrusy, orange, tangerinem honey, toffee. Clean golden orange color, Good head that quickly faded to a ring, Ok lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Thick body, Oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finsih, Tasty brew, Aroma was wonderful to sniff. Flavor didn’t match intensity of aroma, but no slouch either. good stuff.
