dukefan (163), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 17, 2008 Had at the brewery, January 2008. I struggle with the 2x IPAs from Arcadia - they just don’t seem to work as well with English Hops as the West Coast Hops. Honestly, I am far happier with their regular IPA - their style would play well to interesting stouts.
blutt59 (624), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 20, 2008 bottle, orange tangerine color with an off white short lived head, nose is graham cracker and pines, flavor is excellent blend of pine, grapefruit, lemon and graham crackers, melds nicely as it warms up omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 17, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Clear reddish amber, mid-sized head. Aroma of citrus peel and blood grape. Sweet, soapy and perfumy with medium-full body. Some light caramel and black currant, well rounded mouthfeel. The bitterness is strong, but never assaulting. It imay be well sweet, and there are certainly American beers that has both more intense and more delicious hop character. The soft mouthfeel and good balance however lifts it several notches. ante (2473), Stockholm (Bromma), Sweden Aug 15, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy amber with a small white foam. Sharp frity arom aof immatue white grapefruits, chardonnay grapes and metal.Nearly full-bodied with notes of elder, grapefruit and resin. Resiny warming finish of citrousy fruits. TOSG55 (17), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Aug 7, 2008 Bottle. Pours a light orange, with a thin white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is floral hops. Flavor is citrusy hops, well-balanced with sweet, honey-like malt flavors. The 9% ABV is very noticeable, but not unpleasant. Very drinkable. Certainly one of the better imperial IPAs out there, and quite reminiscent of the excellent Bell’s Hopslam. SamsCellar (3), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA does not count Aug 1, 2008 Manditory to decant this beer into a nice pint glass to get the full aroma. Respectable, white head that emits a broad spectrum of citrus and pine. Light orange in color. Good amount of sweetness that takes the edge off the hops, some may say a little too sweet, but it makes it a suprisingly easy drinker. Didn’t really notice the high ABV untill the last sip that had warmed to room temp. Good beer for a hot day.
