This remarkably balanced brew has a deep amber hue with a generous white head. Hopmouth showcases a rich, toasty flavor and sweet caramel notes because of the high-quality Maris Otter malt used. The hops are up front in the aroma, reminiscent of citrus and pine, while the resin-like flavors linger well after the last sip.

Kind of a coppery aftertaste. Other than that, a nice thick hoppy sweet brew. Alcohol content not too noticeable which is good.

There is a deep copper brown body with dark amber highlights and a light haze. Up on top it has a two finger thick foam head that slowly fades to a thin light beige covering. This covering hangs on well and makes lots a spotty lacing. I get a heavy and sweet malt with equal amounts of citrus hops. Notes of booze covered raisins with canned mandarin oranges and lemon zest mingle over a bed of grain. There is lots of lemon and lemon zest with orange like hop notes coming through rich sweet bready and grain flavored maltiness. Its abv is noticeable and warming. The finish has more herbal/leafy hop notes pushing in with a solid bitterness slowly fading from the tongue. It texture has a slightly slick feel with light carbonation.

pours hazy bright golden, red tint, with a creamy off-white head, good retention and lacing. citrus and pine - floor cleaner-like, grapefruit, melons, dill and mint - kind of awkward spicy notes, grass and weed, doughy and spicy fruitiness, dense and sweet - oranges too, booze - tingling. moderately carbonation, medium body - oily and a bit sticky, harsh spicy-citrusy-piney finish. blah.

In growler from Hopcat. Wow. Really fresh and strong hop taste. Maybe a bit too hoppy for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle. Copper-brown with a lovely, medium, off-white head that sticks around for the duration. Nice lacing as well. Pine and semi-sweet citrus dominate the nose. A little caramel underneath. Not overpowering, by any means, but appealing. The flavour doesn’t vary from this much, although the malt comes up a bit to provide more balance. Nice body. Simple, but solid IIPA.

From a 12 oz bottle shared while Airstreaming across Canada. Pours a hazy dark copper with a thick ecru head. Grassy nose. Flavors of resin, pine nuts and caramel malts. Smooth, mildly bitter finish.

I can’t get over how beautiful the head is. It’s two-toned, between a dense, off-white color and a more frothy, medium brown. Even the lacing, which is so thick that it reminds me of frothed eggs stuck to the side of a poaching pan, has moments of white and others of brown. The color and frothiness reminds me of one of those foam mattress covers. Underneath that strong, long-lasting head lives a bold, deep burnt orange colored ale that appears to be bursting with douhy sweetness. The nose is soft, and although sweet not as sweet as I expected, with a slightly citrusy hop character that really reaches up into your sinuses. The beer is wickedly smooth in the mouth, almost creamy, but more porous. The beer looks like it’s loaded with residual sugars, but it’s really kept well under control. It could be that this beer is nearly a year old now, and for that accident I am grateful. It’s earthy in the mouth, with flavors of rustic grains and husks present throughout. There’s a nice bitterness that really only shows its face in the finish, and even then it inherits a blunt smoothness from the distinctive body.

12oz bottle shared pours a medium to dark copper color with white head and nice lacing. Aroma is creamy malty goodness with some pine and citrus hops. The flavor is full bodied rich texture in the maltiness. The pine and orange/citrus is quite flavorful. Overall solid beer very drinkable and not overly bitter for the amount of hops.

Had a glass on firkin as part of a flight at Ashley’s. Tasty, fairly balanced.
