3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is very heavy on the fruity sweetness, hops could be described as soapy. Murky light brown appearance, like a barleywine. Taste of starch and resiny bitterness. Heavy, with an alcohol kick. Not sold on this one, even if itís adequate.

I canít accurately rate this cause of a mild cold. I find this to be well balanced. I was expecting more of a hop overload. This is more malty on first impression and not a hoppy that the label would suggest. The hop profile is there for sure though. The heavy maltiness gives it some extra fruit complexity.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Heavy maltiness with first pour. Sweet molasses type smell. Low hop aroma - fruity and citrus. Hop bite is very low, but present.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[4627-20120728] Bottle. Smells like dusty fire ash with resiny old hops aroma. Clear, dark orange body with a quick foamy off-yellow head. Bitter dusty resin hops flavour has a touch of orange in the finish. Medium body is still quite bitter. Perhaps a little on the old side but would happily try it again. (6/3/7+/3/15) 3.4

12oz bottle. Labeled 8%. Pours a sort of amber-red color. Good foamy khaki head, leaves good lace. Bigger body, good smooth lighter carbonation. Good resiny, piney flavors, as well as that spicy hop. This could fall under that "imperial red" moniker thatís so hot right now. That kind of IPA. I dig it. Good bitter taste. Kind of a juicy hoppiness [ahh, seeing now that it uses fresh hops, that makes sense..]. Nice resiny aftertaste. Some malt sweetness, but nothing bothersome, just offers a nice balance. Dry finish. Nice stuff.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is a very solid, well balanced double IPA. It has a nice floral hop aroma, the taste has a good amount of malt with just enough hop bitterness. Very drinkable. This is a pretty sessionable IPA , if there is such a thing

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz. bottle latest batch into a sam a perfect pint. this starts out with tons of floral sweet citrusy hop aroma, i would guess lots and lots of centennial dry hopping. hints of sweet malt back up the overpowering hops. this beer has an overall sweetness that isnt cloying but i think is part in due to the hops and the marris otter malt bill, it travels from the smell into the sip. this pours a beautiful clear ruby with a nice frothy head that is and has been leaving lots of lacing. the taste of hops and sweet malt then hop oil then floral hops then citrus hops then sweet malt again, its a roller coaster of a ride that most well built IPAís can do. the bite is outstanding and complement by the carbonation and resiny feel of the slick hop oils is spot on for the dry hopping i can imagine they did and i bet whole hops at that. the mouth feel is a nice lively carbonation from the first second it enters your mouth and stays along to help enter in the bite of the hops. the body is nice and full but not too heavy . this would be a sipper for most but an easy drinker for the seasoned dipa drinker and enjoyable one at that. overall this is a great beer and one i can see picking up again. highly recommended for any ipa lover.
