Ungstrup (10415), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 4, 2007 Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aorm ais sweet mlaty with strong notes of hops giving it notes of grapefruit and peaches, but the alcohol can also be senced. The flavor is sweet mlaty with notes of straw, grass, spices, and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Papsoe (9242), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 2, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Hazy, amber golden with a creamy, beige head. Lightly citrusy, hoppy nose. Medium body with a distinct malt sweetness and some dry, lightly citrusy aroma hops in the finish. This lacks some balls to be a truly great Double IPA. 301107 Oakes (6529), Miami Beach, Canada Jan 19, 2007 Dark golden-amber colour. Aroma...dude is that dirty diaper? All right, there’s bright fruits in there too but even after letting it breathe ten minutes that shit is still prevalent. By this I cannot abide. But I guess that’s why they call it Hopmouth, as a hint to skip over the whole sniffing the beer thing. Flavour is bitter, with a sweet, refreshing orange character as well, over a backdrop of earthy, chewy malts that are thankfully low on the crystal. Clean, refreshing, balanced but that aroma just ain’t my thing. sk8viking (5995), Copenhagen, Denmark Dec 4, 2007 Bottle. A hazy orange/amber beer with a huge tan head. The aroma and taste is grassy of pine, peach, grape, hoppy. Medium to full body with a dry finish. argo0 (5860), Washington DC, USA Jan 31, 2007 (22oz bottle) Clear amber body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, duskiness. Taste is moderately sweet, pine/grapefruit, orange, caramel. Dry, chewy medium-full body, nicely drinkable. This is a beer that needs to warm up -- both aroma and taste improve substantially as it approaches room temperature.
