The first in our Brew Crew Big Beer Series, Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA should be finding its way to a store near you. Huge Maris Otter malt and a generous amount of fresh hops combine to make this extremely balanced ale remarkable.

Beautiful dark amber color right from the pour, the bitterness is evident but not overpowering like in some doubles. The aroma offers a slight toasted scent, very good double ipa one of my favorites

Bottle. Pours Amber in color with heavy carbonation. Hop and bourbon aromas with little head that dissipates. A tad bit boozy with bourbon flavors plus cherries and mild bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear, dark copper in color; small off white head and lots of lacing on the glass. Lots of hops and citrus fruit on the nose. Taste is a tad boozy, nice bitterness from hops, malts and fruit are in there too. Very decent DIPA.

Light bodied. Not much aftertaste. Pleasant nose. More bitter than aroma. It’s a decent double

From bottle. Pours brownish. Some orange, grass, grapefruit, but mostly big malt. Alcohol is evident. Too flat and boozy for this hophead.

A murky brown color with a shallow white head. Has a hoppy aroma. The bitterness dominates the flavor, but there’s also some citrus. Finishes dry. Decent beer, though underwhelming for a double IPA.

aroma is pine, citrus, orange zest, bread toasted malts. Color is hazy amber with soft white head that doesn’t last long leaves a little lacing. Taste is not as hoppy as expected some citrus, pine, grapefruit and apple notes. The malt flavors come through more with hints of bread, caramel, nuts, toasted malt, honey,. Its very boozy more than expected for an IPA of 8%. Palate wise it has ok mouth feel seems to leave a sappy feel in back of mouth that lingers after the swallow. Overall, very average and disappointing because it does not live up to its name.

On tap at the brewery. Nice murky copper color, virtually no head. Not much on the node. Hints of citrus, pine, floral. Semi-dry on the palate. Great IPA.

Hits the standard notes - floral, some citrus (not much), some pine. Expecting more.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2013 Not as hoppy as I would expect based on the name...also, the label says "Double IPA Ale". Which is redundant and repetitive and redundant.
