COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first in our Brew Crew Big Beer Series, Arcadia Hopmouth Double IPA should be finding its way to a store near you. Huge Maris Otter malt and a generous amount of fresh hops combine to make this extremely balanced ale remarkable.

Pours from the bottle with lacy head and a light amber / dark golden color. Softer aroma of hops than expected. Nice flavor lighter than expected for a dipa well balanced overall. Well done dipa but a little lighter compared to others

This beer, once poured, is a copper color with a small off-white and bubbly head, and the aroma is quite boozy with hints of earthy yeast and grass hops. The taste is quite bitter and mildly sour, which is surprisingly balanced and thus pleasant, and the palate combines an average carbonation, slick texture, medium body, and a long astringent finish.

Pours a cloudy amber with a one finger head that lingers leaving a moderate/heavy lacing. Hops of resin and pine with some grapfruit. Toasted and slightly roasted malt and a hint of caramel. Slightly sweet with moderate to heavy bitterness. Well balanced. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Long bitter finish. This was very good!

Bitterness and maltiness almost even each other out. The lingering astringency wins out in the end. Very generous alcohol, though.

Had it on tap at Owen Engine in Chi-Town, poured a rich dark amber hue with nice even lacing and a very subtle hop aroma. The taste is bold bitter hop but not overbearing.

On tap at HopCat in GR. Dark cloudy copper pour. Head dissipates quickly, moderate lacing. Pleasant aroma, tangerines, pine. Smooth taste, moderate bitterness. A little boozy at the finish. Overall, an enjoyable beer.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2013 Draft at Mad Mex. More of a IPA than a DIPA. I’m not too in love with it but its good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance more of a red. Smell a bit malty for an ipa. Malty front for the taste leads into very strong grapefruit hops. Taste does not fade much after. Sold and reminds me of Pliny the elder but less rounded flavor profile. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours copper, with little head. A lot of sweet malts on the aroma, mixed with floral hops. The flavor is also a pretty even balance between caramel malts and citrus/floral hops - it’s a bit on the maltier side than I prefer for the style, but it’s still nicely balanced. A well-crafted beer.
