3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Slightly hazy orange and copper color. Tall, clinging tan head. Nose is moderately faint, but full of sugary and fruity scents, nice sweet fruit hop notes. Very sweet and fruity up front, full of sugary bubblegum and yeast flavors. Creamy texture, reminds me of Hopsickle actually, like some other west coast DIPAs. Has a moderate level of bitterness. Good stuff, but not exceptional. Crisp, fresh, lively on the tongue, sweet, but lacking the dynamic hop complexity that could take it to another level.

Hits the standard notes - floral, some citrus (not much), some pine. Expecting more.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2013 Not as hoppy as I would expect based on the name...also, the label says "Double IPA Ale". Which is redundant and repetitive and redundant.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2013 Bottle: somewhere between amber and copper, very cloudy except at the very edges of the glass. Beige head shows good retention and leaves some lacing behind. Aroma is perfume hops, slight spicy tones, roses, florals, moderate citrus, grapefruit, and faint apple. Quite a bit of bread and toasted malt on the nose as well. Thick and sticky body... Taste is similar; roses, perfume, white pepper spice, mild grapefruit rind, orange zest. Alcohol is a little noticeable; slice acetone in the finish. Malt is quite heavy as well, toasted bread, faint caramel, lots of crackers with some sweetness. Balance is okay... this beer isnít bad, it just gets lost on a shelf full of other, better DIPAs.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hopmouth pours a deep amber almost brown color with a bubbly cream colored head that lasts for a bit and leaves good lacing. The aroma is citrus and pine with a touch of molasses. The flavor is toffee and molasses up front with citrus and pine following and continuing on into the aftertaste. This is a delightful brew. The most intriguing part is that it's a double IPA but at 8% it's not overpowering.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle in an English pint. Pours a dark reddish orange, minimal head, decent lace. The aroma is not really hoppy at all, but more of a cherry and pine type of mixture. The taste is more hoppy than the smell, but it is definitely not what I was expecting. The piney type of flavor really comes through and the finish is a bit dry, and fades into a citrus peel that lingers a tad, and it's a nice finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a reddish orange,hazy with tiny yeast bits.Light head/lace.
Cherry caramel aroma.
Taste is cherry, malty, mild hop, slick malty rich, some pine in finish almost minty or pepperminty. This is a weird abv where it borders double to just a strong Ipa. Its defiantly not an average ipa, its maltyness says its a light barleywine with hops. Hmm , its not winter, guess this is from last year? Nice beer for shure.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Sweet nose of delicious citrussy hops, traditional PNW but edging tropical and with a doughy caramel bite. Very juicy! Copper-to-dark brown gradient pour with a tan head. Medium-strong bitterness, medium sweetness that doesnít much go away, alcohol builds and builds until it hits you in the forehead like an ice cream headache. Malt is light but clean and crisp with a crackery bite. Medium body, flights of citrus, a little flattish and reminiscent of tea (pairing especially well with the lemony hops), but fresh. Low-lying earth and dark toffee/caramel. A bit of a non-traditional IIPA, but I like it more than most of those, anyway.

On draft. A darker amber with some lacing. Very happy overall as expected for a double IPA. Bitter throughout in taste.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
funded by the $20 I found on the street series: 12oz bottle (8% ABV) - pours deep amber with small khaki head and trace lacing though I had to swirl the glass around to create the head. Nose is citrus and pine/resin. Flavor adds grassy qualities. Hoppy in the mouth but once swallowed, the hop goes away. Wet. Intriguing, but Iím not finding many answers with every sip. The only answer I have is that this beer is only good if itís in your mouth; once swallowed, the taste and flavor hides. A hearty burp though, revives the taste and flavor! I think that this beer would be better if it had a longer lasting finish.
