Commercial Description:
Black as coal in color, this bottle conditioned Stout has a velvety rich and sweet malt aroma. After pouring, a dense brown head gives way to a big, full-bodied and creamy texture that has flavors of roasted coffee and black currants, blending perfectly with the malt. A generous amount of hops add balance and complexity to this extraordinary stout that will continue to improve with age. A worthy beer to cellar and enjoy throughout the year.

Bottle received from OhioDad. Pours opaque thick black liquor with a thick creamy tan head with lined lacing. Port and raisin, prune fragrant floral hop aroma with dark roasted coffee and dark chocolate malt notes and a bit of oak, overall a very inviting aroma. Dark coffee and chocolate moderately bitter port and alcohol flavor, bitter and dry hoppy finish. Dark bodied and dry palate.

Acquired in trade from OhioDad! Pours to a black body with a thin brown head that disapates rather quickly in my snifter to leave only a ring. So-so lacing. The aroma is chocolate, rubberbands (trust me, its there, perhaps a little too much), lots of black currants, light molasses. Sorta similar to those chocolate covered cherries that are so common during Christmastime. The flavor is huge. Charcoal, coffee, chocolate, black currants, kinda reminds me of the flavor in Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout I love so much. The palate has that dry charcoal feel atop a viscous body with a bitter licorice.

Big black pour with small tan head. Average impy stout aroma, coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Something just seems off in the flavor though, coffee seems like its strange, chocolate but weak. Just doesnt seem well balanced.

The body is black as possible. the large head is light brown and noisy as it settles. It looks more orange once it dies down. The aroma is chocolate and old coffee. There is also a little bit of molasses. The taste is a little sweet with molasses, coffee and chocolate. There is a strong roasted note in the finish. The body is thick and viscous. This is a nice one from Arcadia. Thanks a lot for the bottle, Duane.

12oz bottle - Pours black and thick with a nice tan head that lingers and laces well. Aroma is is dark cherries, coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Flavor is of coffee upfront and then sweet chocolate, some cherries, and caramel. The finish is burnt malts and quite dry. On the palate this is very full bodied creamy and the alcohol is fully covered but a little more watery than some of the best imperials. Nonetheless though this is a solid imperial and enjoyable even on a hot summer night.
