COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black as coal in color, this bottle conditioned Stout has a velvety rich and sweet malt aroma. After pouring, a dense brown head gives way to a big, full-bodied and creamy texture that has flavors of roasted coffee and black currants, blending perfectly with the malt. A generous amount of hops add balance and complexity to this extraordinary stout that will continue to improve with age. A worthy beer to cellar and enjoy throughout the year.

Pitch black pour, with minimal tan head, with nice lacing. Roasted malt and chocolate aromas. Has a lot of roasted flavors.

Bottle to oversized snifter. Looks good; pitch black with low carbonation and thin beige lacing. Smells solid; roasty and malty. Tastes like it smells with some hoppiness and strong coffee notes. Mouthfeel is average. Decent, but not one of the best imperial stouts I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Poured a deep dark brown with minimal light tan head. Aroma was roasted malt, dark fruit with a hint of sweetness. The flavor followed with a hint of chocolate and a slightly bitter finish. Not bad.

Pours a pitch black color with no head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, black licorice, alcohol, and just a hint of fruit. Rich chocolate taste, moderate sweetness. Lots of roasted malt. Very little bitterness and a pretty thick, chewy mouthfeel. Very smooth finish with very little alcohol burn. An above average Imperial Stout but nothing extraordinary to make it stand out.

Bottle - 341ml. Opaque black body with a decent brown creamy head. Rich, complex malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate and roasted coffee hints. Sharp, robust hoppy taste with malty, roasty, and vineous notes. Ends with a strong, warming bitter/roasty finish. Excellent example of Imperial Stout.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a very dark brown with about a finger of dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and dark fruits. Taste is about the same. Full bodied with a very long finish. Overall, very good. I would gladly drink this again.

’10 bottling drunk in May ’12. Thanks polomagnifico! Pours a thick black with a thin fading head. Nose is stewed prunes out of the bottle but this fades quickly to become a persistent juniper with your usual suspects of coffee and really dark roasted malts. Taste is really strong espresso biterness, tar, soy, and dark malts. Very complex and definitely way over on the savory side of the spectrum. Big, brooding beer.

Kinda toasty for an imperial stout, slight sour/bitter taste, clean finish, not heavy, not light ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pitch black in color, small tan foam. Initial burst of scent evokes dark fruit with layer of molasses over roasted malts. A bit vinuous on the palate, with mild hoppy astringency searing through oily texture. Finishing slightly tart with beginning fruit making presence but with a touch of earth and smoke. Not top choice, but notable enough.
