Thick black with a tan head that quickly fades out, leaving behind some soapy patches. Sweet, sharp chocolate aroma lets you know there is some strength. The taste is dry and roasty, with some interesting bitter cocoa nuances. Oily mouthfeel with some pleasant warming, really comes off a little stronger than it is. Warm bitter aftertaste. Fairly unique, but a little too hot and syrupy to really rival the World Class stuff. BroSpud (597), , Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2009 12oz bottle. Very dark with almost no head. This one did not quite do it for me as much as some of the other imperial stouts I have tasted lately. Found it to be a bit on the sweet and syrupy side. Adam77 (407), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Appearance: Pours an opaque, dark brown, near black body with a wispy, khaki-colored head.
Smell: Richly scented, roasty maltiness, full of notes smelling of chocolate, roasted coffee, black licorice, and a very small puff of smoke. Splash of prune juice. Also, a bit of soy detected.
Taste: Dark roasted malts, medium sweet, with tastes of dark chocolate, instant espresso, and licorice. Hint of dark fruit buried within. ¼ teaspoon of soy sauce. Roasty, earthy bitterness. Lasting roastiness on the semi-dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Drinkability: All soy aside, it was still a fairly enjoyable stout. It’s certainly one of the better Arcadia beers I’ve had to date. Worth a try. SSSteve (2059), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Dark black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is lots of roasted malts, tons of chocolate, dark fruits, and cream. Flavor is extremely roasted and sweet at the beginning with a huge amount of chocolate, malts, currants, and alcohol. Bitter coffee finish trails the flavor up and the alcohol warms on the way down. Very flavorful.
