Commercial Description:
Black as coal in color, this bottle conditioned Stout has a velvety rich and sweet malt aroma. After pouring, a dense brown head gives way to a big, full-bodied and creamy texture that has flavors of roasted coffee and black currants, blending perfectly with the malt. A generous amount of hops add balance and complexity to this extraordinary stout that will continue to improve with age. A worthy beer to cellar and enjoy throughout the year.

Black pour with a thick, lasting tan head. Soft roasty aroma with hints of cocoa, and fig. Not a very pronounced aroma for an imperial. Very bitter dark chocolate flavor with a sharp coffee notes and some dry piny hops. A little woody too. Oily full mouth feel with lots of carbonation.

Bottle. Opaque black pour, small tan head. Chocolate roasty aroma, with some medium and dark fruits, and something a touch milky. Dark moderately bitter chocolate and roasty malt flavors, not quite as fruity as the aroma to me. Bitter chocolate becomes even more pronounced at the end, and lingers a little. Goody body, and soft carbonation. Very good imp stout.

12 oz, cellar temp. Dark brown, nearly black, pour with a fine tan head. Roasty and hoppy, good smoky malt backbone and some alcohol in the nose. Nutty and some toffee. Flavor is lackluster and the finish is watery. All acrid smoke and coffee. I’m surprised I didn’t get any hint of that in the nose. Warming in the chest. Not great.

[bottle] shared by OSLO and Guerde. Pours not quite pitch black with a small tan head. Nose is astringent malt, coffee, chocolate, and some alcohol. Flavor is the same with a long bittersweet finish.

Black color. Lots of roasted malt in aroma and taste. One of Arcadia’s best brews.

Pours an almost black brown color that has a beautiful mocha head. Nice looking beer. Aroma is chocolate mixed with burnt malt and alcohol. Beautiful. Flavor is much the same. Rich smooth body. Nice beer.

12oz bottle. Very dark with almost no head. This one did not quite do it for me as much as some of the other imperial stouts I have tasted lately. Found it to be a bit on the sweet and syrupy side.

Pours black with a thin 1/4 inch tan head that stays. Aroma of chocolate liqueur with a slight coffee. Flavor is chocolate liqueur, coffee, leather, and a mild soy. Very rich. Good slightly different imperial stout.
