Quiver (139), Augusta, Georgia, USA Jan 19, 2008 Great beer... I had it after a pint of Speedway, So that might have over shadowed it a tad. But nonetheless, it had a wonderfully dense head that was caramel in color. Explosions of deep malt, roasted coffee and a creamy finish (not really milky, just creamy)
LilBeerDoctor (730), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 27, 2008 Bottle, 2007 vintage. Pours black, somewhat thin, with no head at all just some bubbles. Aroma of alcohol and super sweet malt. Flavor initially sickly sweet with a slight roast in the finish. There is a vegetal quality to the taste as well. Ick. The beer improves with warming but it’s still quite boozy. This is not a very good beer.
nqualls (575), Tennessee, USA Nov 18, 2008 2006 Bottle. Poured a dark black color with a one finger brown head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor was very chocolately. Body was slightly thin for an Impy. Beardface (257), Eugene, Oregon, USA Nov 1, 2008 Dark as the night with a middling tan head. Smells like chocolate and tastes of chocolate with a decent amount of alcohol in the finish. Very solid offering, much enjoyed. Jayb0 (695), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Oct 31, 2008 tap@grey lodge. very disappointing. near still, tasted as flat as it looked with a syrupy mouth and muted flavors. poor aroma for IS esjaygee (918), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Oct 26, 2008 2006 vintage, says the bottle, though vintage is overstating things a bit. Dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, soy sauce, syrup and mild chocolate. Taste of chocolate, roasted malt, brown sugar Thick mouth feel that’s too syrupy for my liking. Amazingly lifeless with little to no carbonation which is odd considering every other Arcadia I opened was pretty much the gushing fountain of beer.
