Taste is thick and rich- mostly burnt flavor and alcohol with a little hop sting. Surprisingly balanced though. Hops are done perfectly for a stout, just the right amount and not too bitter. The aroma reminded me of Coco Pebbles cereal. Lots of bitter chocolate, licorice, espresso coffee and ash. Slightly salty and metallic finish. I drank the last of this with butter pecan ice cream and it was good. TBone (6870), Pori, Finland

Opaque black color with big creamy expresso head. Toasted aroma with some vanilla/fudge -notes. Very coffeish flavor - creamy palate with full body. Kind of vanilla notes in flavor too. Sweetish impy, but a good one. verymerrymonk (257), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Tastes malty, with chocoff and slight fruitiness at mid-palate, and a velvety chocolate emerging at the finish. Very smooth. Not as complex, dense, or balanced as the elite Impy stouts, but I wouldn’t kick this one out of the refrigerator either. Thanks to BBB63 for this one. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Courtesy of Sammy and later I also got a bottle from After4ever – thanks guys... It is pitch black with a small, creamy, nougat colored head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, dark fruits, licorice and chocolate. The mouthfeel is oily. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of dark fruits, roasted malt, licorice, caramel, chocolate, light smoke and a light bitterness. It is harmonic and nice.
