beerdad (49), Kansas, USA Mar 19, 2008 Bottled. Pours a murky orange brown, with a full off white head. Hops abound in the nose. It has a crisp bite with a touch of citrus. FInishes cleanly with less than the aroma would lead.
502Flavors (283), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 11, 2008 12 oz bottle into pint glass. Clear and somewhat light copper body with a good off-white creamy head (some floaties in the body). The aroma is wierd but nice sweet hops and malt that work otgether to create a light floral aroma that is hard to describe. A bit of yeastiness in the aroma too. Flavor is good but also a bit strange for the style - it doesn’t really taste like an IPA, more like a unique pale ale. Not much hops and only a mild amount of bitterness. It tastes like it has some spices in it (like it might be a pale ale/ spice herb veg hybrid beer). Medium to light bodied on the palate with fine carbonation. Overall: unique, solid, not to style, highly drinkable.
PS - after getting to the last half of the bottle... I poured the last half or so into my pint glass and it looked like a dropped a handful of mud into it. There is way to much sediment at the bottom, and it is actually really unappealing (left dark brown speckles on my foamy head). I am docking the overall down from 14 to 12. I know this sediment isn’t supposed to be poured in to the brew technically, but the bottle doesn;t even indicate that it is bottle conditioned. Shame on you Arcadia! Onslow (20), , Michigan, USA Oct 8, 2008 From a bottle. Light amber in color, off white head that leaves ample lacing. Aroma is predominantly hops, with malt underpinning. Full bodied ale that feels good in the mouth. Ample flavor that strikes an excellent balance between grain and hops. Excellent. WakeandBake (97), Greenville, Michigan, USA Sep 7, 2008 Bottle - Pours cloudy amber with a decent offwhite head that laces well. Aroma is citrus and hoppy. Sharp in flavor. Citrus and grapefruit with a decent sweet malt background, quite balanced and tasty. I enjoyed this. timsilvia32 (253), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Aug 19, 2008 Gold pour, white head. Nice floral hop aroma. A bit sticky in the mouth, some citrus and caramel, metallic. A bit mild on the hops for an IPA. To me, not a whole lot of difference between this and the Anglers. Still good and very drinkable. malrubius (459), USA Aug 17, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear yellow gold with lasting ring and lace. Citrus and honey aroma. Mild honey sweetness with very mild fruit and very dry finish with a slight bit of funk, maybe from open fermentation, and a little nuttiness. Medium body and medium carbo. Pretty good and sessionable.
