Arcadia Jaw-Jacker Ale

Bottle. Had to display this one. Pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and pie. Lager malt and some light skinned fruit. not bad.

Hazy dark orange and copper with a lightly off white head. The aroma had some spicy nutmeg and cinnamon. The pumpkin smell was light with some apples. The taste is definite pumpkin rind with some nutmeg. There is also a little bit of cinnamon. Good for those that like more pumpkin in their pumpkin ale.

Amber colored with small, mostly diminishing head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with subtle cinnamon and ginger spiciness. Spicy flavor, with nutmeg and more ginger. Mildly bitter finish with grainy wheat notes. Flavor quickly wane, leaving behind only a wet grainy aftertaste.

12oz Bottle. Bright and fresh pumpkin pie aroma. Heavy on the clove. Real and bready. Kind of artifically spiced. Pours a crystal clear orange-amber, with a thin rim of white. Flavor is a fairly predictable rendered spice and musty kitchen closet. The mingled pie spice carries on. There’s a shellaced, glassy calmness to the beer that subdues the bright, lively character the spices could show. Actual pumpkin essence flounders beneath the McCormick pre-ground spice show. Mostly spice, not too much meat. It’s not really that bad, just predictable for the style. Just this side of sweet. Hops glow in a loaf of stale bread at the backend. Alcohol not noticed. Lightly bitter from spice overboiling? Realtively clean, yet self-explanatory version. Loses points compared to similar examples for not actually revealing pumpkin flavor, just the spice. Festively appropriate. Thanks again Sean for yet another limited distribution Michigan beer!
